Re: Keep Dal At Saints Campaign
I'm waiting to see what anyone actually offers before I make a call.
99% of trade talk comes to nothing
But I don't buy the Melbourne or Geelong comparisons .
Firstly Geelong have remained highly competitive and won three flags .
That's why they 'kept their stars'.
If they finished third last i guarantee they'd be making big changes .
And the Melbourne thing is a huge myth .
Scully moloney rivers McLean all left at the peak of their careers .

Not sure that they can afford him and keep Crameri, but in any event, surely it is a joke? We couldn't seriously take any of their players with confidence, and how can they give us draft picks?
What possible attraction could it hold for Dal?

seems that meeting didn't last long....... How could they afford him anyway- their cap must be under pressure with Jobe already taking a cut to get Goddard..

Would've thought the Bombers would be "busting a gut" to get an outside player of Dal's quality. They already have enough blokes who can get "the pill".

He's been LOYAL to us over many years. Though he could have left for more money, and possibly had a premiership medal, he's remained, and is still one of our best players each week.
I'd like to see St Kilda recognise & reward that loyalty by extending his contract.
He is rarely injured and he doesn't get suspended. ie we can rely on him to play each week.
He has always used his "silky skills " rather than speed, and HE STILL POSSESSES THOSE SKILLS.
I believe he can provide good value to the team for a few years, both as a player and a mentor to our younger, developing players as we edge closer to a spot in the eight.
I await St Kilda's ( & Dal Santo's) decision!!

Keep Dal!
Sounds like he is making a very concerted effort in the media to make it known - He wants to stay.
Whether this is in actual fact or media management who knows - But it is a very clear that he prefers to stay.

Come on dal, fight for your spot.
If you want stay, tell them what they can do with their trade ideas.
You are too casual at times, this shouldn't be one of those times.

Surely if we don't trade then we need to commit to him beyond 2014, after which time he will be able to walk as a FA. And no guarantees of comp if he does go then.SainterK wrote:Come on dal, fight for your spot.

Why not.
I wonder how clear he has told them he wants to stay - Obviously would have, maybe this is just his media front...

Re: Keep Dal At Saints Campaign
I wrote a letter to Dal, Watters and Nettlefold.
My letter from Scott Watters reads: "Thank you for your letter and ongoing support of the St Kilda Football Club. Please be assured that all decisions made regarding our playing list will be made in the best interests of the Club. GO SAINTS! - Kind regards, Scott Watters.

Re: Keep Dal At Saints Campaign
Just hope we are not banking on Delaney being the answer to our defensive problems at the cost/risk of Dal. Top 20 pick please Mr Pelchan.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
Re: Keep Dal At Saints Campaign
If we loose NDS, kiss 3x membership for next season goodbye, might be some 'best interest' for the club to keep in mind.
NDS is like the heart of the club... I couldn't give a rats ass if we were offered a pick from 10 to 20, not worth it. If you're going to get rid of Dal, take Roo as well, actually take all our good players then... and then lets keep the fringe ones... meh.
Young guys need him to learn off him and he can take the load while they slowly take on more.
As for Delaney, no idea, I haven't watched enough of him.

why wait? If you are that precious and put players ahead of the club, you shouldn't be a member or support our great club.lefty wrote:If we loose NDS, kiss 3x membership for next season goodbye, might be some 'best interest' for the club to keep in mind.

We dont need hysterics threatening the club. That type of medicore thinking holds back a club.
Lance or James??

Re: Keep Dal At Saints Campaign
The Club will take a pick 10-20 selection in a heart beat. There won't be many clubs that will be prepared to accept such a trade. The crop of 18 year olds in the top 20 are so well prepared and educated that the Top 20 is now like the Top 5 ten of years ago. We need to remember this is a very deep draft with plenty of talent which is why quality players are being put up by their clubs.lefty wrote:If we loose NDS, kiss 3x membership for next season goodbye, might be some 'best interest' for the club to keep in mind.

Have you noticed how GWS has performed for 2years and they had 7 of the top 10 picks -kids alone is not the way to re-buildJimmy O'Dea wrote:The Club will take a pick 10-20 selection in a heart beat.
