With details of the long-term equalisation plan to unfold over the next 12 months, the AFL revealed to the clubs it would inject an extra $6.5 million next season to be spread among the financially struggling clubs as a short-term bid to start closing the gap

Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly..!!
even in the Bible belt in the US they play NFL on Good Friday.
Your time has come Dimwit. STFU and fixture Good Friday Footy!
If he doesn't relent this time he'll be shown once again how arrogant and out of touch he is.
Yep had GF footy and if it doesnt include us then watch you whinge about having GF footy. I love footy but surely we can all get by without a game on one Friday.
You're on your own buddy.
I don't care if we don't play on GF.
Happy to watch any game.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
Don't we normally have this debate a week before Good Friday?
I've got the day planned already. Hot Cross Buns in the morning, wash both the cars then off to the footy (twilight). That would be the ONLY twilight game that I WOULDN'T whinge about !!
Hey Eastern, would be good to do your walk on that day. You could also supply us with Hot Cross Buns!!!!

I'm hearing you...I hold an annual "Festival of the Cow' party every year on Good Friday and a game of footy playing in the background would augment the proceedings nicely...especially if it were the saints.
It will be put on the agenda for a St Kilda / Western Bulldogs game on Good Friday and then by some freak quirk of the fixture it will end up Carlton / Collingwood instead.

If some of the people I know can eat as well as they drink, I'll fix the economy in one fell swoop !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
I am keen to see this happen. If the Saints can own Good Friday - make it a Marquee match against a regular opponent (some have suggested Melbourne which would fit somewhat with the religious theme) and the day will always be a Friday (as opposed to ANZAC day which each year is on a different day).
If the religious side of it means nothing to you, think of the money.
A less than half-full MCG on a cold night is not a good look for the AFL.
Think of the awful annual NRL Good Friday fixture.....
In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.
