Finey on SEN

Stillwaiting asked: I don't listen to SEN. Can someone tell me who Finey is and his relation to the club

Mark Fine is a long time St.Kilda member and hosts the evening show and also Finey's Final Siren, plus a Sunday morning show on 1116 SEN.

He took over the evening show after another long time St.Kilda member Bruce Eva, was axed.
I am not sure if the truth of the axing was ever aired, after all, history is written by the winner.

In 2013, the normally entertaining and open minded Mark Fine has IMO, turned into a shock jock.

There may be many good reasons for his comments, but it would be a good idea if he backed it up with more facts.

Finley's a big time saints man.
Well connected in the media,and tells it like it is.
He's well informed on events at the club .
I've listened to him for years ,and love him or hate he's really keen
On the saints, and he's no dill ...
If he said it ,it wasn't for ratings,he's in the know...

A few weeks ago he was blaming our lack of premiership success on our lack of identity???? Comparing us with North & the Dogs (for changing their names, playing interstate, etc). A totally bizarre point.

Seems to me to be a bloke who loves the sound of his own voice & is in a passionate love affair with himself.

TBH I didn't hear what he said but I know he has his heart in the right place, like you and me he has an opinion the difference being more people hear his opinion but the smart realise that's all it is, an opinion.
I know how much he loves the Saints and know how his passion sometimes exposes him to scrutiny but he would never knowingly do anything to damage the club.

Loose cannon ? Shock Jock? maybe but a danger to the club he is not.

Might be the case, but if he said what are lot of supporters have been hinting at since Watters has been at the club. Watters is all media spruke and very little on content. He can con the younger players because they don't know any better, but the older blokes know the guy is not a coaches arse - hence the problems!

I agree with Finey there is no way Watters should have his contract extended !
