Quite like it.
Maybe also swap Armo for Adams straight.
End up with picks 3 21 26 Adams Michie Bruce Delaney .

Which team does Adams play for??
Is it GWS or the one from NM?

I think they mean the GWS one who wants to go home. I would keep Armo myself any way. There is some strange crap at this time of year. Some want to give Fisher to GWS for a guy who played about 8 games and is behind about 4 others at GWS. He wants to come to us and can go into the draft but we don't seem to care. I wouldn't be too concerned because most fans have no idea and fortunately don't actually have any say.

Haha no dramas. Just interested to see what happens. Daves name has been thrown around a bit with fisher to be traded so maybe there's something in it. Have to wait and see I spose.

By the way how long do we have to wait to find out. The draft is November or something isn't it

The trade period goes for a good portion of october usually then the draft after that. If Armo gets the flick it will be during that - usually doesn't seem to do much until about the last 2 days. I don't think they will do anything with him because he is about the only one besides Steven and Mc Evoy who are in their mid 20s that we drafted.

i think they have decided he is a drug addict because there are rumours he is a mate with Dustin Martin and Sam Fisher because they are twitter mates. So trade every one time begins. The fun of off season speculation. Not many trades ever actually go through because most want too much for their players.

Your brother actually had a pretty good year and while he didn't make a leap like Jack Steven he became a wrecking ball in and under mid and had at least 2 best on grounds. No way we should trade him now.

Cheers for that. He didn't go too bad. I'm pretty harsh on him and reckon he can do better.

Yeah being mates with Martin doesn't sound like a good thing for their careers at the moment. I'm not sure whether either would be too fazed by it tho. There off on holidays and enjoying themselves.

Wonder if it will still matter in a few weeks time.

I'm pretty confident he will be on the untouchables list unless he is absolutely of the rails. We had a s*** run with recruiting for a few years so there are already too many missing in his age bracket. Sam Fisher would go first. David will be better for the year he had. It takes a long time to get the consistency for some and at least he had a few break out games. Mc Evoy was more of a worry he actually took a step backwards this year. I think Dave should have a real break out next year. he will be at the right age and games played to take off.

We'd be stupid to get rid of Armo, he was top 5-6 in the best and fairest and still has plenty of improvement left in him.

Armitage is at his peak already.. Wont improve .. may play better in a better team, as essentially everybody does...

Would not be dissapointed if we traded him for someone in the age bracket of those who will be there for our next challenge....

Love armo.
Just think really we are 4 years off being any good whereas GWS are probably only 2 or 3 years off being good.
Armo might play finals sooner there.
Taylor Adams is only 19 and finished 8th in their b and f and wants to return to Melbourne.
Could be a win win.

What is Armitage's currency anyway? A earlier 2nd rounder?

Dave is a good to very good player, depending on the day, whereas, Taylor Adams has the potential to be elite.

If we could keep Dave I'd be very happy, but we will have to give up something reasonable to get a potential gun. Armo will be pishing 30 when we next challenge.

I don't understand why the Fisher for Bruce trade (with change) is so crazy. Fisher is 31, played little this year and while he is the best loose flank in the game, he has currency, he has off field troubles, he plays a position which we can fill, he is not big enough to play on a monster forward.

Bruce, is 21, is a good 7-8cms taller than Chips, and has a crazy big amount of upside having incredibly good athletic attributes.

IMO, the only player I'd consider untradeable (for the right price/player) is Jack Steven.

Edit: No disrespect to Armo here and I love the way he goes about it and he actually is one of my favourite, but I think even he'd agree that he isn't going to be an elite player of the AFL.

About pick 20 I'd reckon .
But GWS need mature players .
Armo would be terrific for them.
We need young elite talent. Taylor Adams perfect for us.

See I disagree on that. It's not that he hasn't shown he can own games- a couple of times this year he was BOG with our core of stars around him. You don't arse that. I stood up for Jack on this too. He Isn't someone you can hold up next to another player and say he's 25 so should have shown more but he was always in and out under Lyon and still hasn't got to 100 games yet. 46 or so of those would have come in the last 2 seasons. He still has to get some improvement in consistency but he plays with aggression and intent and should become a real enforcer as the team gets better and he realises he needs to take responsibility for the team not leave it to Lenny and Montagna etc.

Losing Fisher, Dal and Armo would see us bottom out for years. I want Adams too but not at the expense of the age bracket we need. I would sell them Mc Evoy first- they need a ruckman we have a few we need middle ager mids so we give up one of the few who will be the senior core when the old guys go. Doesn't make sense to me.

Actually Armo maybe more like a pick 12 to 15.

If we lost dal fisher and Arno for nothing in return yes it would be disastrous.

But let's see what's on offer first . If its not something bloody good then no deal.
We are already bottom with them so not sure why ur worried about being bottom or why you think these guys will keep us from bottom when we are already there.
If we do nothing and stay on the same path ill guarantee we will bottom out for ten years .

Watters has said that we lack players in the 23 - 27 age group , so why would we trade the one's that we do have ?

If we trade our older players and bring in mostly promising kids then watters will be out of a job before we're back playing finals !

Good point. Chances of trading Arno extremely slim.
Under 10%. Along with jack he'd be almost in the untouchable bracket.

Armo's just about my favourite player now.
I think he offers something very special to us -- courage, guts, backbone, wrecking-ball presence.
Not easy to find that.

I would hate it if they traded him.
(In fact I hate this whole period.)

This is a good read and a fair enough argument to have me say no to trading Dave also. We need more mid depth and class and losing what we have in there isn't really that smart.

I was all for trading out McEvoy too but considering what we paid last year to get some help for the guy, it doesn't make sense to now trade him away considering Boyd isnt on the table and we still have a deficiency in Macs age bracket.

Love your attitude towards your bro.

He needs to be pushed and will respond positively to that.

Nine months ago Armitage became a member or StKilda's leadership group, now we are trading him because he's a Junkie ( or is friends with one )?

Others are saying we should be getting rid of him because he's a friend of Martin ( who is highly rumoured ).

I'm just pointing out that we seem to be fickle.

I think the club have stated that we need more midfielders -- don't see how trading Armitage, a midfielder in the right bracket out makes any sense

The only reason armos names has suddenly appeared is because of this dustin Martin crap. Before that he was iuntouchable. On field obviously he is a leader and one of our best . But the club are super sensitive about off field and rightly so . Anyone who doesn't see that in the current environment is nuts (jake king must be as thick as planks).

I still think if good offers are made for chips and dal they are gone but really can't see GWS offering much for chips .
