Heard some flutterings around the traps this year, and i would be happy for him to move on...
Fisher for Bruce and round 3 is more likely...
I think Bruce + Round 3 Pick is good deal.

What will happen to our AFL golf comp. Losing Goddard last year, if we lose Fisher as well we are cooked. Surely that is the most important issue here.
If at first you don't succeed, sky diving is not for you.

So Fish and Armo had to cancel their holiday with dusty...
Reckon there is a bit to this potential trade.

Wish his brother still posted here to shed some light if this is overblown, or a worry.
Caro might not of been that far off the mark in the preseason.

I would imagine Fisher needs to be around for medicals if other clubs are going to trade him in.
Re: Giants move ON Sam Fisher
Sounds like a fairy tale in more ways than one...
Once upon a time there was a Giant who lived in the North. He was very sad because he couldn't win any games he played as he was too young and had never learned to catch. "I know" thought the Giant "Who is better at catching things then a fisher? I will head south and bring back a fisher".
The Giant had been walking several hours when he heard a tiny voice "Help, help, down here". The giant could not see anything so he got out his magnifying glass. He saw a dwarf with his pants on fire. The Giant spat on the dwarf to put out the fire. "Who set you alight little dwarf?" asked the Giant. "Oh thank you kind giant" said the Dwarf "I was attacked by a drunken dragon but with the help of the Witch Grimshaw I was able to best him.". "I am seeking a fisher" said the Giant "Do you know where I may find one?". "That I do" answered the dwarf "I made the mistake of visiting the debauched place of St Kilda, where maidens sell their bodies, the inebriated fall over in the street and magic herbs are freely taken. Do not let the holy name fool you, it is a hell. But it is there you will find your fisher."
With huge strides the Giant arrived at St Kilda. There he saw a fisher on the pier. "Hello fisher," said the Giant "If you come with me up north I will give you many gold coins. You will also receive a title and be known as the Fisher King." "But who will do my work here?" asked the fisher. "I will replace you with a good man called Bruce" said the Giant. "Let us adjourn to the local tavern," said the fisher " and have a flagon or two of ale as we discuss the matter"
The next morning the Giant woke with a splitting hangover, a horrible troll in his bed and a strange elixir on his bed stand. The Giant got up and ran as fast as his huge legs could carry him back North without the fisher muttering "Bad culture...bad culture...bad culture".
The dwarf meanwhile got several gold coins for selling his story of nearly being drowned by a horrible giant to the local printer
And they all lived happily ever after.

Re: Giants move ON Sam Fisher
Is Armo trade bait? I don't necessarily want to get rid of him, but he would command a high pick from a GWS or GC who would be screaming for a tough inside body to help their kids out more.
If GWS want him, then would anyone entertain a swap of Armo and Chips, for Bruce, Adams and say, their second rounder - or chuck in our second rounder to pick up pick 9?
I like Armo, as I said, but if we get say, Mitchie, Adams, and a young mid like Dumont in the draft then surely they would more than replace him going forward. Especially if he is now hanging out with Dusty and Fish.
I don't really feel comfortable talking about trading out mids, especially considering we need mids, but tough decisions need to be made

Re: Giants move ON Sam Fisher
Id consider trading Armo only for something pretty good - like Adams.
Armo is in the age bracket where we are very weak so I dont reckon theyd be keen to lose him.
But if we ended up with say Aish, Adams and then someone good at pick 22 then they might do it but unlikely.

Re: Giants move ON Sam Fisher
I think getting Aish with pick 3 is almost as fanciful as getting Boyd unfortunately. The only way we could've scored Aish is if Nealdy was still in charge of the DeesCon Gorozidis wrote:Id consider trading Armo only for something pretty good - like Adams.

Thanks bergie. Wasn't sure if my bizarre ramblings in the middle of topics annoy people. But I noticed people here tend not to be shy with telling others what they think of them so I figured someone would get up in my face if not happy.bergholt wrote:I like your stories, Bluthy. And don't agree with Armo as trade bait. He may not be A-grade but he carrys a heavy load in an underpowered midfield. Him and Jack are getting a partnership happening which would be loathe to break.

Pray tell, might that be the Witch of Fairfax, the one who speaks in vulgar ways on a Monday evening, she who was saved from burning at the stake by the hirsute Garry of Lyon?

Re: Giants move ON Sam Fisher
So Caro's article uncovers what has been revealed on here.
The club isn't happy with Armo and Fisher and their mates .
Cancelled a trip with Dustin Martin to the USA
Quite possible the moreton bay bugs stories had something to them.

Maybe bluthy can write another chapter to his fairy tale ?

I think Caro said that Martin's dad is a bikie, and the handcuff gesture after a goal was for an associate of Mr Martin?

With any trade with GWS, I would take into account that they will probably only use their first three picks, 1, . and 19. I dont think it would be too hard to get them to add their 3rd and 4th round picks to any trade done They have the first pick in each round, so these picks would be worthwhile.

Yes that is how Pelchen operates.borderbarry wrote:With any trade with GWS, I would take into account that they will probably only use their first three picks, 1, . and 19. However it would also mean delisting more players, as you can only use such picks if you have free space on your list. Unless you on-trade them for 1 player.
