Re: trade rumours
i got a draft related "rumour"....... i hear that the Swan Districts boys had their mad monday celebrations that got a bit wild but there was one very noticable exception who was absent .... Dayle Garlett .... the story that i was told was a AFL club from over east advised him that it would be in his best interest to not take part in the mad monday celebrations ...

Re: trade rumours
Channel 10 news tonight reported that Magpie Nathan Brown had re-signed for 2 years after turning down an offer from the Saints !.. if true, we really are leaving no stone un-turned.
I reckon our poor season counted against us. If we'd finished like last year with 12 wins or just outside the 8, then I reckon he may have come across, but with only 5 wins and in pure rebuilding mode its hard for an established CHB to get excited about the Saints. I remember reading reports last year of him advising his brother that we would be a good club. Interesting if his brother had come across last season. Would he have wanted to join him at the Saints ? I guess we will never know.

Re: trade rumours
Adams fits the culture model!
I thought the hawks were into him? Interesting perspective on the luck involved in drafting - he was 13, Myers 9. Just goes to show..

I think the Hawks are into him. They just have less money, higher draft position and nothing to trade with them. Franklin will get an end of first round pick for Buddy in FA. Fisher for Bruce and Adams sounds okay. What's wrong with Adams?

Agree, good stuff, you're on a roll dragit.dragit wrote:What would Fisher be worth?
Could we use him in a trade to get Bruce?
They need experience, we need youth.
I'm guessing Bruce would be worth more than Fisher at this stage of their careers.

Re: trade rumours
Fisher for Bruce and Adams? Pelican would have to be beyond genius! Adams is highly rated - very good player already and only 19. Clean with the ball and hard at it.
We'd need to offer something quite compelling in my mind.
Re culture comment I'm pretty sure he had an assault charge a while back

Re: trade rumours
Carlton into Staker…
Gees Mick really is a jacket… must think they are only a couple of players short of a flag, hope he fills their list up with injured and players.

Re: trade rumours
if we lose Dal and Fisher and end with Adams and Bruce, I would be satisfied....
then use 3 and 22? on midfielders
And grab Delany for a late pick (after leting dal go to North under FA)

Re: trade rumours
Oh, and I'd even be happy with 22? for Minchie....
Bring in Adams, Minchie, Bruce, Delany and #3 and we could be VERY satisfied I would think.. even if it means Dal and Fisher take superannuation payments elsewhere

Re: trade rumours
They won't prioritise positions with pick 3. If anything breaks a tie, Pelchen prefers talls. I imagine he'll do what he can to get pick 1 and, failing that, take whomever falls to us out of Boyd, Aish and Scharenberg. I think the only way we take a mid is if Melbourne take Scharenberg.SuperDuper wrote:then use 3 and 22? on midfielders
Yeah nah pleasing positive
Re: trade rumours
I had a dream that we took Scharenberg, Bontompelli, Harvey, Allir Allir and Langdon in the draft.
I need to stop reading about the draft before I go to bed!

What do we think of the move?dragit wrote:Only dollars, he a FA so would come without trading anything.MC Gusto wrote:We'll have to give too much for daisy in my opinion.
Moving Dal and Chips on probably frees up the 750K per year, plus what we have already let go last year and this year, we have room...
Is Daisy a good move for our current situation??

Re: trade rumours
I rate him - but i dont think daisy is right for us. We are 3 years off finals (in a perfect world) and should do a solid ground up rebuild.
if we pay daisy big bucks we may as well have just kept BJ. Lions should go after him.
