The deal sounded like it was a lot more in our favour especially given Fisher's age. I could be wrong. It's not terrible for them by any means.joffaboy wrote:SaintPav wrote: It could be good deal for us but it's a bad deal for GWS. They'd laugh at the offer.
Why? They would have #1,#3, #19, would also have Fisher. The trade would only be fesiable if they get Buddy. Dont think it would happen, but and i think we may be advantaged but remember we drop from#3 to #9 and patton is a risk.

Couple that with the fact he's 31 and coming off a season ruined by injury, I think we should explore this trade aggressively.
I agree with this. fisher has only 1 maybe 2 years left. if we get other backmen in the trade, i would ty and trade him to GWS.

I really want Adams!jaxons wrote:We have to get Taylor Adams from GWS.
Exactly what we need.
A midfield star.
Straight swap for McEvoy as they need a ruckman.
Adams is a jet.
If he ends up the Cats I will seriously spew!
If we end up with Aish, Adams, Bruce, Delaney + another decent kid in the draft I will consider it a huge win.

Why are we wanting a player who cannot make an average side's best 22? (Delaney and Kangas)Con Gorozidis wrote:I really want Adams!jaxons wrote:We have to get Taylor Adams from GWS.

Re: Giants move ON Sam Fisher
Think if Fisher did agree to go to Gws for pick 9 and Scharenburg not picked in 1st couple ( Boyd /Aish ) they will pick Matt and with pick 9 get Freeman
Would hope they are able to not give any more early picks away , Saints need mids eg : Dumont/Bontempelli with as many early picks.
They need tall strong midfielders ( Freo) midfielders are 6ft 2inches tall.

Re: Giants move ON Sam Fisher
We have traded well with GWS the last 2 seasons, so it seems there is a good relationship there. Maybe thanks to the SOS connection.
Also, GWS won't see us as big threat to them in next couple of years...so dealing Taylor Adams to us might be plausible.

Do GWS want Dal Santo??
Fisher and Dal Santo to GWS for their no.1 pick or no.9 pick and Bruce.

We could give GWS the option, Paton or Boyd (Pick 1) with Bruce and pick 9 for fisher, McEvoy, pick 3

Re: Giants move ON Sam Fisher
Always been a big Sam Fisher fan and not keen on seeing him in other colours.
However his potential worth to GWS as they continue to develope and feel 'the pressure' to develope quickly in regard to the dynamics of Western Sydney is enormous. 2 years of solid dependable backwork from 'the general' would ease the development of all those young stars around him to get better quicker I think.
Fish is worth a fair dinkum top line young mid. Losing one genuine mid on the up very likely wont hurt the further improvement of GWS with experience of AA Fisher into their defensive zone.
I can see why they believe they can lure him north. I believe they are prepared to sacrifice a genuine young talent to make it happen for the club's future developmen.
Interesting time with the cluster of young lions wanting out as well.
Heard on radio that Melbourne are also interested in the experience Dal Santo could bring to their structures under Paul Roos. I don't expect North to be able to give a realistic swap 4 Dal but Melbourne may well be in a better position for that.
I would find it hard to let Fish and Dal go as I would have found it hard to let Ross Lyon go but I hope our Saints brains trust have thei brains switched on if looking to achieve genuine big wins 4 St. Kilda this trade period.
Have heard Saints are real keen on Taylor Adams - if he is a good mid i'm happy the club is at least making a play for our midfield future. This is a project that could take another 3 or 4 years so we need to be adding to our stocks every opportunity we get.

I think they are just flying kites like last year and they will say oh we tried but no-one came to the table.
Unless this time the AFL has leaned on them and said we cant wait for your 5 year plan - we are already losing the battle for hearts and minds out west.

Re: Giants move ON Sam Fisher
I see Fisher in the same boat as Lake last year.
What did the doggies get for Lake?
He'd be a great pickup for a team pushing for a flag or GWS looking for veterans.
Worth more to us and any potential suitor than a 3rd or 4th round pick, regardless of age I would have thought.
Quality A grade player with a couple of years left, 2nd rounder or no deal I say.
Is he contracted?

I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.
I know how Dal feels.

Do you really think SOS would fall for that deal. Reads as being very one sided, in our favour, a potentially top quality forward and a young potential career CHB for
a defender who is near the end of his career and a ruckman who can't win a hit out. Go SOS
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Think they have to become competitive next year, very disappointing this year and miles off GCS's second year.Con Gorozidis wrote:Unless this time the AFL has leaned on them…
Hard to keep promising kids when you have one win in a year.
Throw in Franklin, Fisher, Bellchambers & maybe a Cross as a rookie and they should be a lot more competitive.

You're probably right that they're similar, which is why all this talk of first-round picks is fanciful.

Good, a change in culture is welcomed, epecially if it means getting rid of Fisher...
Heard some flutterings around the traps this year, and i would be happy for him to move on...
Fisher for Bruce and round 3 is more likely...
