Interesting read on building a team from A.Ferguson
Found this interesting especially given where we are at.

Re: Interesting read on building a team from A.Ferguson
Good to read this- someone who plans for success and expects to get it. This is a lot easier to do however if you have practically limitless funds to provide the best facilities and personnel, and buy the best players thanks to large funds rolling in from overseas interests who demand results. I would love AF to come to Seaford and apply his principles to our rebuild, though I expect we would need Clive Palmer or similar magnate to drop a lazy $20million into the club's kitty. I hope SW and board discuss the article.

Great read. I have copied over the 8 main headings . All of them are relevant for the Saints. The ones in bold relevant for our current draft period.
1 Start with the foundation
2 Dare to rebuild your team
3 Set high standards – and hold everyone to them
4 Never, ever cede control
5 Match the message to the moment
6 Prepare to win
7 Rely on the power of observation
8 Never stop adapting

9 Run plans past the members of a relevant forum in case you'vre missed something, or indeed, got it totally wrong.Con Gorozidis wrote:Great read. I have copied over the 8 main headings . All of them are relevant for the Saints. The ones in bold relevant for our current draft period.

I may be a Liverpool fan, but this plan has had proven success. A plan that Scott Watters and St Kilda should follow. Agree with Spert that money could be the issue.

9c. Convince yourself that your success has nothing to do with money and resources and everything to do with your own genius.

Surely you dont think SAF's success is due to cash flow? Did he have advantages over bottom feeders, absolutely. But he spent as much as the others at the top and reigned supreme.

Only 4-5 teams in the EPL are genuine contenders. That narrows the odds. If SAF had led Aston Villa to glory I'd be hugely impressed.ljpoyz wrote:Surely you dont think SAF's success is due to cash flow? Did he have advantages over bottom feeders, absolutely. Point #6 is hard enough considering we couldn't run out games.
