Nick Dal Santo such a nice guy
Thanks Nick for taking the time while at the Best and Fairest to ring my daughter to wish her a happy 21st birthday. You made her day.
Re: Nick Dal Santo such a nice guy
Awwww....can we keep him? Please? I promise I'll look after him.
He does seem a genuinely good guy. (I'm not going to make a gag about chatting her up)

Re: Nick Dal Santo such a nice guy
I won tickets to the B&F through the Saintsational sponsorship program a few years ago. Dad and I stayed until the end of the night, and Dal was one of the last players there. They were clearing everyone out of the room and I was waiting for dad to come out of the toilet when Dal just approached me for a chat. As a kid it meant so much to have an AFL player come up to me and start a conversation, and he really didn't have to do it. He is absolute class, and along with Lenny and Gilbert, one of the nicest guys at the club.
I really hope if he leaves it's because he genuinely wants to, not because he feels like the club want him to which is what I suspect happened last year with BJ.

He comes across as class - another down to earth country lad
I hope he doesn't go - unless HE wants to (earny the right IMO) but our club will be the worse for it

I met dal, joey and goose out one night about 7 years ago. Dal is a champion person. I hope he stays but if the deal is right for both parties he could actually help the saints with a trade. Imo shame on everyone that had a go at him earlier in the season. People have to realise that players cant and dont always play well. They could even be sick or injured etc.

Dal is reportedly a very good guy, I've heard Goose can be a bit of a prick!
Sad if Dal follows Goose, Ball, Ross, Hall, Everitt, Smith, BJ and of course Plugger and finishes elsewhere

Losing Spider and Hall didn't hurt us at all.
I would argue losing Plugger didn't either.
Not sold on losing Dal, depends on what is on offer.
Surely every player is for sale at the right price?

Re: Nick Dal Santo such a nice guy
Stinger stop moping in your room and come out please. We talked about this champ. You know Dal needs to be fed regularly and who's going to do that? Lendog is getting to old. Jack can't feed him all the time. We'll find him a good home where they throw him the ball a lot more than we can. I love Old Dalla just as much as you. But you know we are not in the same place we were a few years ago and don't have room for him whilst we rebuild. He doesn't want his mangy old St Kilda bowl anymore. He wants a nice new shiny cup to play with. We'll get you a new young pup who can find his own ball. Wouldn't that be good? Now dry those eyes kiddo and go out and play with Dal one more time...stinger wrote:i intend to phone the club...no dal...no membership for me or my wife.....can't speak for the billy lids...

[sniff]..the loyalty of a boy and his outside mid..[sniff] Alright we'll keep him. Good Old Dalla.Stinger sings
Dal, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
With a friend to call my own, I'll never be alone And you my friend will see, You've got a friend in me
Dal, you're always running here and there (maybe not quite hard enough but eh)
You feel you're not wanted anywhere
If you ever look behind, And don't like what you find (bloody taggers)
There's something you should know, You've got a place to go
Dal, most people would turn you away
I don't listen to a word they say
They don't see you as I do, I wish they would try to, I'm sure they'd think again, If they had a friend like Dal
Ain't looking forward to the day I have to put him down though [looks at shotgun in cupboard]
Re: Nick Dal Santo such a nice guy
Nice to hear.
They were all nice.
I got photos with my boys bar one, I was even lucky enough to have Simpkin and Roberton as bookends in another photo.

Re: Nick Dal Santo such a nice guy
Also .... if Dal goes it means that all the recent familiar faces we see on Ch 9 Footy Show will have moved. eg Luke Ball, Goddard and Dal. Nicky Dal is so much a part of the Saints we know and love. I want to see him run out for his 300th with us! Don't go Dal.

Re: Nick Dal Santo such a nice guy
bad bad karma if we trade such a loved saint in dal santo
disgraceful move by the club to put him up for trade
dal santo could have walked to another club years ago for money but stayed with us, and this is how we reward his loyalty
disgraceful stkilda
must keep the dal
