I've dedicated my life to stopping the abuse of disabled people.
I wrote a book about hate crimes against people with disabilities.
This sort of stuff is appalling and unfortunately very common.
I don't care how long I've followed St. Kilda, I hope someone goes to jail for this.
There is NO EXCUSE for abusing vulnerable people... and someone who is a little person will always be seen as physically vulnerable by football players who are always so much bigger.

However, are you certain that Blake J was targeted solely because he's a dwarf? My understanding is the players were fooling about, setting each others clothes on fire and whatnot, and someone either said "Hey CJ, see if you can get Mr Big" or CLINT thought it would be funny all by himself. If it was a clown, he would have tried to get the clown, if it was David Hasselhoff, he... might have thought twice, that guy probably has a kickass Hollywood lawyer, but you get my drift right? I think Mr Big was targeted because he was the entertainer. If he'd been a member of the board for example, I doubt there would have been any issue.

Secondly, please remember that as the good Dr pointed out earlier, Blake has invited ridicule of his stature by the nature of his chosen profession. His performing name is Mr Big. He wrestles other dwarves for the entertainment of paying customers. That doesn't permit fools to set him alight, and he clearly deserves the respect that anyone deserves, but equally, he puts himself in the situation of inviting ridicule over his stature. I accept that a line has clearly been crossed though.

Still, this comes nowhere near a hate crime and I think your expertise in this instance is actually hindering your ability to seeing the issue for what it is.

Good luck with your fight in general though, I think its great that people are getting involved with the handicapped community and supporting them.

I don't usually quote myself, but after reading the backpages of this thread, and reading the very good "stripper" arguement, I thought that I'd better emphasise the point I made, just so I don't accidentally advocate the physical/emotional abuse of strippers.

After reading Plugger's description of the event and the inside goss about the entertainment providers, I'd be keen for this to be investigated properly and for the full truth to be publicised, one way or the other. Either Mr Big and his agents are playing Media Coverage games at the Saints' expense or CLINT and his buddies need a bit of a re-introduction into the real world that exists outside the Boys Club okker bubble. Or both.

I've got a feeling that critics of St Kilda are due to owe the club a humble apology, but it didn't happen after the Duthie scandal, so I don't s'pose we can ever expect justice.
