Saints Fans-THANK YOU !!

When I first dreamt up the idea of a March I thought that if we could get 200-300 people to join in it would be deemed a success. Well did I get a MASSIVE SHOCK. Someone said that there were well in excess of 1,000 people who participated (anyone got any other estimates?).

Things like this don't just happen and I'd like to thank a lot of people who contributed to making today's event the success that it was.

THANKS to Rory & Sarah from the club were fantastic the way they embraced the idea and set about turning it into the success that it was

THANKS to the various Forums for giving us the opportunity to promote this event

THANKS to social media and all the SAINTS FANS who spread the word about the march

THANKS to the Moorabbin Pipe Band for their efforts

THE BIGGEST THANK YOU IS TO ALL THE SAINTS FANS WHO PARTICIPATED and/or SUPPORTED THE MARCH. Without your support this thing would not have worked.

Now to dream up something to better it for next year !!

Well done Tom. Sorry I missed marching as I got distracted by the $1 snags and free ice coffee outside the channel 9 building. I blame a fellow forumite who may have been behind trying to sabotage your great initiative that works in that building!

Anyway it sounded great hearing the band play as you marched back to gate 5.

Will be 2,000 marching in 2014!

Well done Eastern. My daughter, known to grizzle if I ask her to stand up and walk a metre, loved it and filmed most of the march on her phone. The band had a Pied Piper effect; the more it played the more people joined the march. What could have been a display of daggyness became a show of soldarity and strength for our club. An excellent initiative that can only galvanize support.

Tom, your efforts in organizing the wonderful march for loyalty provided us with a spot of brightness in what has been a season from hell. My granddaughter and I will always remember that we took part in the inaugural march, and I'm sure it won't be the last! The numbers may have been a wee bit down compared to the "golden years" of 2008,09,10, but the march showed just who is prepared to stand up and be counted, when it counts! Good on you my friend!

Yeah, great work organising all of that. I wasn't sure how it'd go, but as the march progressed, I felt really proud participating, even had goosebumps! It was great to be marching with others who share your love and passion for the club.
