Excellent.
What are his feelings on Seaford, morrabbin etc.
As long as he's not The Invisible Man (isn't that a Queen Toon?)

will he be the invisible man? and a good question re seaford and moorrabin.

what does he think about having a standalone VFL team

I don't know anything about him.

But ...
As a 40+ year member you can't question his commitment and passion.
As a successful businessman you can't question his capacity to make good decisions.

I would therefore assume he has the skills and the desire to push this club forwards.
Looking forward to hearing him outline any shifts in vision at the B&F.

And wish him all the best for a successful Presidency.

Not fussed that he isn't high profile.
As long as he gets the job done.

We don't want a celebrity ego-driven president like Eddie Maguire - who thinks he is bigger than the club and is basically an embarassment.

And we DEFINITELY don't want a status seeking President who knows nothing about the game e.g. Alan Bond who acquired the Richmond Presidency just like he did fledgling mining companies.
Perhaps the moment that best summed him up was when he proudly announced at a B&F that "The award goes to Dale Whiteman"

I would like to see our new boss get the company he runs to finish the seaford training , i.e. put in a pool and the other facilities it lacks for the players and landscape the grounds surrounds with tiered seating and the like for when us fans are watching practise games and training .

Get Moorabbin up to Vfl standard so the saints reserves can play there !

Both grounds can be plastered with as many A.V.Jennings signs as he like's
Linen house can become the A.V.Jennings institute for sporting excelence with an enormous statue of Albert on the peninsula link side . It would become a tourist attraction as well as a place the company should showcase their latest innovations , people will come from everywhere to see the big A !

Why would he do that now when he hasnt done it previously? i reckon that isnt much chance of happening.

Yeah, I don't think it is essential to have a high profile president.

For all we know, he could be quite outspoken once he assumes the position.

All the power to him and good luck to him. Fingers crossed he can help guide our club to a successful future.

A big "A" next to a big "V" should create some interest

Just got the email to members- he has a bizarre signature. Looks like abstract art and doesn't seem to represent English characters. Does he write in sanskrit?

There's nothing inherently wrong with a low-profile president. But a president who has an active public image can serve as a lightning rod for sponsors, members, players and more - a real galvanising force who can get everyone pulling in the same direction.

They can inspire. Whether you like Eddie McGuire or not, he's pulled the Magpies from the depths of hell in 1999 to being the nation's biggest club with the best facilities and biggest membership base.

If Summers wants to inspire, he should use his building contacts to investigate what it will take to get our hands back on Moorabbin and convert in into a 25,000-seat arena.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

I'll go with much more than 50 million and Moorabbin moving to Glen Eira council. It is never ever going to happen.

Yep as a Glen Eira resident and some one who has recently got a planning permit we should move here. They would let you bulldoze a child care centre and throw asbestos into the carpark at the next door neighbours. No Titsy Antigamblington-Smyths around here.

Big Ed,what an embarrassment.?
Staggering comment really,
Over 70 k members,Elite training facilities ,corporate sponsors lined up for years,
Powerhouse club that will never close down .The list is endless of his achievements for his club.
I was astonished that Westaway had been there for 6 years.Maybe he had 5 minutes of press in that time.
I for one would kill for an Eddie to lift our profile to half of where there's is.
Imagine te sponsors etc ,man has a brilliant vision and he doesn't let t afl kick them around.
Collingwood don't accept mediocrity, why should we?.

Would his list of achievements read the same way if he's become president of Footscray? I doubt it.

Being a true life-long Saint and having seen all of the past Board mistakes, as AVJennings boss, Peter Summers has a good pedigree. Let's see what he can do with it, because as a Club, we are in a perilous long-term position in this day where the strong get stronger and the weak get weaker!

And yes, it would be good to have a higher public profile president - let's see how he goes. Best wishes to him for taking the position on.

As an AV Jennings man I imagine he has a vision for the future that involves all clubs having stadiums in a long row that all look exactly the same as each other.

That's a great idea.
He should also make all of the players live in his display houses in the southern suburbs and any potential buyers get to view them thru glass panels big brother style.

Anything to worry about? - HOME builder AVJennings has recorded another full-year loss. The company posted a net loss of $15.3 million in the year to June 30, compared to a loss of $29.8 million a year earlier. Full-year revenue fell 16.1 per cent to $158.8 million, down from $188.8 million in 2011-12.
