Re: Shenton upgrade
Happy with this.
Is Watters trying to distract everyone from how poorly our season has been by having a new debutant every week?

Can we debut 20 players this year, that is the question?
No harm in looking at everyone at this point in the season, hope he tears it apart...
Re: Shenton upgrade
Good on him.
He has been in a purple patch of form in the last 6 weeks or so.
I've had my doubts on how well he'll adapt to the AFL stage - but I would be more than happy for him to kick arse & prove that thought wrong.
Go the Panther!!

Excellent news!
Gotta find out if these blokes can actually play, and also give them a sniff of the big time.
Excited to see him go round!

it has been around this time that "Kosi" will headbutt a fence, rip a hamstring or belt someone.

Re: Shenton upgrade
Yep great to see shenton get a game and he has been in great form. Some hard calls will need to be made at the end of the year so the club needs to know if players can perform at AFL level or not and we have nothing to lose. Hope he plays well

Awesome. Been calling for it for weeks. Hopefully he takes the game on like we know he can.

Re: Shenton upgrade
Love Shenton's work and really glad to see him get a run. Too bad for Ledge he deserves a run in the seniors but he's probably in line for Lenny, Jack and Armos spot as an inside mid and doesn't have as much to offer as an outside player. Ross is also probably after that spot.

Re: Shenton upgrade
I suppose Ledger's mood would be determined by whether or not he's selected this week.southernsaint wrote:How bad must tom ledger feel now
Shenton's elevation means Shenton plays. Ledger is already on the Senior List so Shenton's elevation doesn't mean Ledger doesn't play. It may be unlikely but it's still possible both may play this week.

Don't know how he could get a game this week if he wasn't even an emergency after getting 39 touchesDr Spaceman wrote:I suppose Ledger's mood would be determined by whether or not he's selected this week.southernsaint wrote:How bad must tom ledger feel now

Don't know how he could expect a game when there is a perception that he picks and chooses when to put his head over the pill and still doesn't run hard enough defensively. One would assume he has had these issues pointed out and had it explained how they could be overcome.

Re: Shenton upgrade
Only seen very little of him but the gut feel was this boy can play and has some real character. Good on him, I am happy with the foundation work we have done this year blooding so many players and putting some miles into them. The stars will come with our high draft picks and some aggressive recruiting to come. Look at Tigers, have not played one final and are already experiencing salary cap issues. There is always one boy that gets screwed on contract negotiations and it seems Conca is the one at the Tigers. We can target one of these boys along with our high draft picks, sell him the future, pay him market rate etc

Couldn't agree more. Only those who never watch Sandy and go purely on the stats want him picked.
Shenton richly deserves this promotion, he's really improved.
