What has dusty actually done that is so bad? I'd take him in a heartbeat. Strong goal kicking mid at 21 years old

Re: Dustin Martin
Think id be happier with Gartlett - at least if Gartlett comes to Melbourne he will have left his 'mates' behind and could be capable of a clean start whereas Martin still has all his 'mates' hanging around .
Not sure if the Saints have enough clout to reform a bloke like Martin at the moment - (assuming he really is a rat bag and this isnt all just rumour stuff).

Re: Dustin Martin
I have trouble offering an idiot like MARTIN a large contract for an extended period, when the club would not make GODDARD a reasonable offer !

Re: Dustin Martin
I also agree with this post if we are going to take a chance on a troubled player GARLETT would be a much smarter option ! Taylor ADAMS has an assault charge against him for belting a bloke at a night club but has shown to really knuckle down and play some good footy since then so he would be another preferred option IMO.Con Gorozidis wrote:Think id be happier with Gartlett - at least if Gartlett comes to Melbourne he will have left his 'mates' behind and could be capable of a clean start whereas Martin still has all his 'mates' hanging around .

Re: Dustin Martin
martin is cousins MK2
only difference is at-least cousins had strong support around him and had shown a significant amount of talent and leadership before it all went bad
look at martins old man for crying out loud. only reason martin would want out is because its all too hard at richmond and maybe he has like minded people he can "hang" with at st kilda

Re: Dustin Martin
Well a good offer of cash would always help....and Martin's lifelong love of the St.Kilda FC wouldn't hurt the chances of it potentially happening either. All hypothetically of course.defacto wrote:martin is cousins MK2

Re: Dustin Martin
He wants overs from Richmond.
Not much, probably 50k or so above market. But you are talking half a mill plus per year.
Personally, I reckon he would f*** up deluxe at some stage if he came to us. Probably get found with some hookers, with a bottle of JB hanging out of his arse while he sneezes through a cocaine moustache.
Or something similar.

Re: Dustin Martin
Why would any player come to a club whose future for the next few years is to compete with Melbourne for the wooden spoon.
Money, money, money.
St Kilda will have to pay overs to get anyone.
That is going to be hard given the club continues to pay overs for most of the players who have taken them to third bottom of the ladder.
St Kilda needs to use the next few years to recruit competently and limit player payments to what they are really worth.

When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

There are no short cuts.
Melbourne threw big money at half baked players like Chris Dawes and Mitch whatsis name .
Those guys couldn't give a stuff about the club.

We didn't just grow that great team from scratch 10 years ago, half of it was recycled talent.

Re: Dustin Martin
Dustin Martin wants $600,000pa to stay at Richmond. It would take more than that to get him to move !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
Re: Dustin Martin
Oh wow , go back and undo, Penny ( prematurely retired/injured ), Black ( morphed into Fiora ), Guerra, Powell ( injured ), Ackland and Brooks, and we could have had a Premiership for sure.SaintPav wrote:dragit wrote:
