Friday night football, not much else going on in melbourne at the moment and hawks fans don't mind etihad.

5k neutral supporters, 15k Hawks, 12.5k saints fans. No buddy or hodge will give some hope to saints fans who were otherwise tipping a 100+ point thumping

That's great news for us financially. I assume for each Hawks fan through the gate means $20 to Etihad, of which we get a cut (more precisely a thin slice!).

The weather will turn many thousand away also.

So. A compo game for Hawthorn on a Friday Night and we only get 24,800

Everyone will find it easy to BAG the saints BUT, what does this say about Hawthorns so called MASSIVE membership numbers? May I suggest that their numbers are MASSIVELY INFLATED by 3 Game Memberships & Tasmanian Memberships (remember, its almost impossible to get into games in Launceston without a membership) !!

I have to admit I though there would be far more Hawthorn supporters than St Kilda attendees so looking at all of the empty seats I was somewhat surprised by their non-attendance.

The weather may ave been a factor but ill say it again- late finishes on a Friday night means families with children under ten are not attending due to sports commitments Saturday morning. Our more senior members are not going to travel on late night public transport nor are they going to drive at night.

And now the people have spoken about what they think about the current state of AFL football.

Was there last night, what a disgusting turnout from Saints supporters, really disapointing.

We used to have a decent hardcore supporter base of around 15,000 who would go each week, win or lose.

Where are they now? We now have 8-10,000 diehards.

I think the last 5 years have tortured Saints fans beyond repair.
