Everyone caught faces 2 year ban, doesnt mean they get it. 2 years is maximum.

That is not really true, the Olympic medalist usually get rolled on a retest of old blood/urine samples.

The AFL's blood passport would b so insignificant that it won't be able to determine a pattern. It is PR speak.

irregualr could be too much caffine, or a slightly higher than normal HGH
it could be a sudafed

it prob just looks suss so then it has to go for its second round of tests i think
They will test the B sample and see how that comes up. But they now have a thing (name escapes me) something "passport". So they can go back years
and find irregularities. That is how all these olympic gold medals are losing their medals from 2008 and 2004. Yep I kid you not.
So it really is getting harder for the cheats. As long as tests are carried out that is.

I actually think we are lucky the EFC thing is going on, otherwise we would be copping it media wise.

Its sort of ironic isnt it, we are so poor that our idea of doping is taking a sudafed. EFC had their own chemist

Please let this be at the most minor end of the scale and don't take any focus off essendon . We have a habit of taking the heat off any club that f#@ks up.

Was thinking the same, meal replacement or something

On a side note...I have not overreacted, our club did NOT need this at all

Some one has to go down for the big clubs though. It will be a bigger circus than the Bombers. James Hird might just send him flowers i think.

Wow...wasn't expecting it to be saad tbh.

OK I'll stop over reacting now.

Hopefully he makes a statement via the club.
After all the paper has gone ahead and named him.
Might as well speak about it....if he is allowed to that is.

I think it might be nice of us to not randomly put players names out on this thread - even just as speculation. The Age has named Saad and so far there are 4 or 5 others that we've bandied about.

Guaranteed Saad goes down for 2 years, Essenfon players get cleared (after their captain ADMITTED to taking a banned substance) and AD announces the game us drug free and they caught the bad guys.. Saad is the Travis Tuck of the PED drama.. Essendon are the Buddy Franklin..

Well now we have something to compare the bombers stuff with.
Watch the world explode when those players get lesser bans compared to Saad.

Lol.

I think this may actually be a blessing as it will set the baseline. Hopefully the investigation is swift and the results will be determined one way or another by the "B" sample.

We have already seen WAFL and VFL players who unwittingly took banned substances given 9 months which was challenged by ASADA and increased to 2 years. How Saad is treated, if found guilty will have to be the same as Essendon's players if they are found guilty. Unwittingly is unwittingly.

As has been said many times;

In the scheme of ASADA (who represent WADA) Essendon and the AFL are small fry.

I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints

What would Caro do once every player, coach and administrator gets banned for life......seems to be her raison d'etre.
She loves it.

I reckon its Roo, Lenny, and Jack Steven.

No reason at all for me to think so, but mindless speculation seems to be the go on here.

Poor Saad.

Who will be the first to make some kind of Muslim racist connection.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

The Club now needs to make a statement.

This is now linked in with the Essendon saga. It will be interesting to see how Saad (if the report is correct), is treated if his claim is "accidental," as any potential guilty plea by Essendon will be ... very interesting indeed.

i just hope its over and done with within a week. not weeks of re-test, legal proceedings, inuendo, etc.

Hope by next friday that its done and dusted, suspension or not. We have essendon's asada announcement next week, hope saad's ban or non ban is announced in the same week as well.

Cant be bothered with st.kilda being a focus with this and any connection with drug cheating. Especially post essendon's punishment (or non punishment) and the other court case coming up, we need to recruit some players and attract them to the club, dont want any noise affecting that.

Ramadan commenced on July 9th this year. When was he tested?

I don't see the relevance.

There are a lot of Muslim athletes in the world, and if was screwing up blood chemistry we would already know about it.

Don't know if there is any, SRS. It's just something a bit different and I'm interested. It may introduce some extra complexity e.g. what level was the banned substance found to be, is there a level of the substance below which it is not seen as a violation, was his system normal for other stuff? It's just a different set of circumstances and often the full story isn't available this early.
