Re: Saints in the paper again!
who is over reacting?
we are discussing one of our players returning a irregular sample (im guessing a piss test)
it could be a cold n flu tablet?
it couldve been a PED to recover from injury?
it couldve been crushed tiger penis with shark eyeball goo
it couldve been too much coffee
i dont care tbh
id just like it to be in the open (dont have to name the player)

Re: Saints in the paper again!
the article says an irregular reading, not a positive, are they the same thing or is there a distinction between the two?

Re: Saints in the paper again!
id say for now theres a diff
depending on whether its been sent off to have its second lot of testing?
irregualr could be too much caffine, or a slightly higher than normal HGH
it could be a sudafed
it prob just looks suss so then it has to go for its second round of tests i think

You know I didn't go to school stinger, after-all you called me a flea... so I obviously grew up in a circus.stinger wrote:dragit wrote:Why would Wilson want to take any heat off Essendon? where did you go to school..????....the afl leaked the story to caro.....they wanted to take some of the heat of essendon....not caro...for pity's sake.....
So the AFL wants to take the heat out of a huge drug scandal by leaking information about a separate drug scandal?, that makes sense, so cunning that it just doesn't make any sense.

I'd say the majority of people posting here are overreacting.
Is it a non issue? I don't know what it is - but neither do the rest of you.
Is it enough to ruin my day & cause me stress? No.

They will test the B sample and see how that comes up. But they now have a thing (name escapes me) something "passport". So they can go back yearsmatrix wrote:id say for now theres a diff

and find irregularities. That is how all these olympic gold medals are losing their medals from 2008 and 2004. Yep I kid you not.
So it really is getting harder for the cheats. As long as tests are carried out that is.
I actually think we are lucky the EFC thing is going on, otherwise we would be copping it media wise.
Its sort of ironic isnt it, we are so poor that our idea of doping is taking a sudafed. EFC had their own chemist

Or if it truly was a tablet taken by accident unlucky that we are in a maelstrom of drug hype right now.

Re: Saints in the paper again!
Three scenarios...once they check the B sample:
* Positive sample and above the cut-off level = gone unless the very VERY unlikely circumstance of extenuationg circumstances such as of being unconscious when given etc. (= virtually no chance of getting off)
* Positive sample and below the cut-off level = not-gone (ie as rumoured with the Pies players)
* Negative sample = not-gone as a will be deemed to be spurious.

There is only one player with the big guns on our list so if it was HGH Tommy Curren would be the obvious one but he wasn't even playing a month ago and they probably aren't going hard on the VFL guys. The rest of our guys are so small it would be embarrassing for the suppliers.

Maybe it had something to do with culture, diet, fasting etc. Maybe that will provide an "out"mullet wrote: oh dear, there goes the multi cultural ambassador role if true

Yes there are many of these around that stimulate the brain and body, however there is something in them that is illegal.SAAD wrote:My guess is it was a gym pre work put supplement drink high in caffeine n other banned substances that are nothing close to steroids but an extra bit of energy
Unfortunately ignorance is no excuse, however he may only get 6 months. Just going on what happened to Discus thrower Sandra Perkovic a few years ago. Same sort of thing.

Re: Saints in the paper again!
What a disaster for Ahmed if he gets a ban, he's had a poor year, but I still had hopes for him, not much chance if he can't play football for 1-2 years though as he's already coming from a long way back.
As far as the club is concerned, a small forward is one area which we can comfortably take a hit.
