Re: Saints in the paper again!
I'm staggered.
In the current climate, why would you even be in the position to take something with even the tiniest doubt of if it's OK or not.
Earlier this month.
Can we wipe out those not playing, or could they still be guys that could fail a test?
Oh who was so silly.

Re: Saints in the paper again!
Actually scrap the sad face, I'm furious!
If this proves to be true....
This St Kilda has to be different to the one of the past, anyone that compromises the organisation, that subjects it once again to this level of scrutiny and negative press...I mean, how many hits can the club take until even a betting agency won't touch us with a barge pole.
No more chances, I don't care if it's the captain, the fringe player, the rising star, the most loved....
Taking PEDS is a no-no, in this environment....it just is insane.

Re: Saints in the paper again!
Ha ha. You have to laugh at this. St. Kilda finds novel ways to shoot itself in the foot.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
Re: Saints in the paper again!
1) name the player tomorrow morning
2) stand the player down pending investigation
if they are found to have taken the substance. delist them, pay out the contract.
anything less than that is an utter failure. we as members and supporters have to take a stand and should not accept this behavior anymore. this has gone on too long.
i mean how dumb do you have to do this in this climate. i would be triple checking everything i took with numerous people

but if its something performance enhancing i say you are gone
sucked in
it just wouldnt be a reg season if we werent involved in some sort of bulls*** would it
st kilda
unreal
wouldnt happen to no one else

The one thing this club seems to be good at is shooting itself in the bloody foot.
Who needs drama shows when you follow this club?

Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons; for you are a quick and tasty morsel.
Re: Saints in the paper again!
So it's just 1 player?
If true it is devestating, if it had to be anyone don't let it be a repected club figure!

Only reason I think it's PEDS, is Caro goes on about previous players testing positive to peds...not recreational.matrix wrote:lets not go bananas over it just yet

I got this from the ASADA site, what does provisional suspension mean?
Does that imply they'd already be sitting out pending the outcome of the investigation?
If an athlete records a positive anti-doping test result and does not have a Therapeutic Use Exemption, and the relevant international standards have been followed, ASADA notifies the athlete, national sporting organisation, international federation and WADA about the details of the potential anti-doping rule violation.
The athlete is also provided with details about their rights in regards to the analysis of their B sample.
A provisional suspension will be imposed on the athlete, in line with the relevant sport’s anti-doping policy, unless the prohibited substance involved is a ‘specified substance’ (which is more susceptible to inadvertent use, e.g. some asthma medications).
ASADA then presents information to the independent Anti-Doping Rule Violation Panel (ADRVP) about a potential violation of the World Anti-Doping Code.

Re: Saints in the paper again!
i found this
not sure what sport etc it is
but scroll to consequences
it lists the type of punishment
Provisional Suspension means the Athlete or other Person is barred temporarily from participating in any Competition prior to the final decision at a hearing conducted under Article 8 (Right to a Fair Hearing).

So that narrows it then...
Earlier this month, likely not played since
Table tennis is cut throat M, someone could need an edge

Hope it is not the player from the back line missing just lately.....
And for those wanting Warney to be Prez......he was banned for drug-taking. His Mum's diet pills so he said. Would not be the bloke.
These guys must attend umpteen lectures about all this. Dumb....really dumb.

Re: Saints in the paper again!
We need to show Essendon and the AFL how to deal with drug cheats.
IF this is all legit (the story), thn yes, stand him down.
Reality is this season is cooked - I just hope it's not Gilbo. That would be a disaster. We've missed him enormously this last 6 weeks or so.
mods - please change the subject to "Saints in drug probe" it's not just another Saints in the paper issue - this is potentially massive!

Herald Sun journalism at its best.
It's one sentence right in the middle of the latest Essendon article on the back page. Just throwing s in for good measure.
And knowing this club's luck that player will be named and shamed and suspended and Essendon players will get a get out of jail free card

Re: Saints in the paper again!
On the face of it -
how could ANYONE be so stupid. I'm sorry, but if anyone has taken anything which is not club sanctioned with all this scrutinty on drugs in AFL then he deserves whatever he cops. Stupid.

Of course thats the reason. Why would people think it is Gilbert. this isnt like the other drugs policy. You dont get stood down after a second strike. if it is true then the person will be named unless it is like the Essendon enquiry and there is actually no positive drug test but there is other proof. Unless our club stood him down then whoever it is would be allowed to play if an enquiry.
I wish guess that Gilbert is actually injured.
