Yep. And any chance of Geelong winning back to back, something which puts them as a great side of this era but not a legendary side like the Lions or Hawks of the 80's. I'm sure that Scarlett, with his keen sense of the teams place in history - as he always goes on about - would be secretly spewing about that.

No sour grapes here, I admire the Cats, but their inability to seal the deal with at least one back to back, and the dawning realisation that beating Port in 2007 wasnt that earth shattering considering the final margin, keeps their place in the overall history of the comp below where it might have been

Even then, beating us in this game mightn't have guaranteed that elusive back to back anyway, as the Filth could've still the GF.

Whoever won this game was always going to be in the GF.

Very late in the last qtr it was 17 inside 50's to 1 in the Cats favour for the term. How they didn't win it is incredible.

Face it - we were very lucky to even make the GF in 2010!

Of the 22 players that day, 12 are still playing vs Geelong tonight, but importantly most of the defensive third has gone.

i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Can't see how we were lucky. Please elaborate.

Lucky that our Captain and most important player was only at about 60% after missing 18 weeks with injury that season.

SP thinks that if the ball bounced for Milney we still would have lost.

I think we have forgotten what a herculean effort that was by Rooey to get back.

He was at the top of his game too.

That's why it's baffling that winning 3 games this year so far is acceptable. Should have won more.
