i watched this match....impressed with ross, ledger, curran and dunnell.......also with a young guy...langdon???

19 year old Sandringham Dragon. That was his 4th game, he's been 23rd player 3 times (thats max you can be 23rd) but his form was so good he forced his way into Zebras best 22. This is no mean feat, its first time a Dragons player has done this in years. Basically unheard of. He finished with 26 disposals, 9 marks and now averages 18 disposals in VFL seniors to go with his 27.7 disposals, 6.6 marks, 5.1 marks in 9 TAC Cup games this year! Was a draft prospect last year and many thought he would go but obviously got looked over, but be no surprise to see him picked up this season. Is medium-tall utitilty type player, plays down back and can run through middle. Has really good composure for such young kid.

Adam Cockie was reported for rough conduct on Saturday. Cockie was offered a 1 week ban however will challenge it at the Tribunal tonight.

Notes from around SFC & VFL
More good news on the resurfacing and lengthening of the oval.
AFL Victoria and Council officers met with the Football Club on Friday and it was agreed that the ground resurfacing at the end of the season would now also include lengthening and widening the playing surface.
The works will go out to tender in August and commence in October.

We are very appreciative of both the Council and AFL Victoria commitment to upgrading the oval to make it of a
fantastic standard for state league football.

Whilst we haven't written it in there, it does seem few AFL clubs are keeping very close eye on Tom and he is working on areas of game that obviously weren't quite upto scratch last year.

Sandringham runs over Bendigo Gold

Sandringham Zebras have powered home to register a 75-point victory over Bendigo Gold.

After a goalless first quarter, the Zebras responded to lead by 12 points at the main break and 24 at three quarter time.

Then hosts then put the foot down, slamming on nine goals to one to run out 17.22 (124) to Bendigo 7.7 (49).

Darren Minchington topped the goalkicking sheet with three goals, while Seb Ross amassed 31 disposals in a dominant display.

He was well supported by Tom Ledger (29 and 2 goals) and Adam Schneider (23) who returned from injury in style.

Terry Milera was also lively before going down with what appeared a serious knee injury.

Bendigo, who remained in the contest until the final term, were well served by Jake Aarts and Alik Magan (two goals).

Very positive to see the Minch on the score sheet because Milney is probably done next year and the other 3 small fwds lack the fierceness we need.
