Id really struggle to see how any one would find out watters hates ledger if that's true. And if he banging on the door that hard at selection table , watters would look bit od being the only one not wanting to give him a crack. My guess is they have told him to work on stuff disposal etc and he aint cut it yet.

When Watters was asked about Ledger not getting a seniors game he said "I'm not playing him cause I hate him " when prompted further for the reasoning behind this he said "i dunno why i hate him I just do "..later Watters was over heard whispering to Eric Bannana about Ledger " if only he was better at keeping his house tidy I'd give him a game , I hate messy people"

I have posted this before but I think his bad body language lets him down a bit. He works really hard getting the ball and that's the best part of his game that instinctive first touch. When the opposition has it it's another story- he's lost - does v little and can often be found too far away from the play. He has improved his tackling a little and maybe he will get a game or two but for mine he has nowhere near enough stamina to make a regular meaningful contribution in the ones as anything but the sub.

From what I've seen Shenton just doesn't have a weapon for AFL footy. Not that quick, not that skilled, doesn't rack up big numbers and doesn't kick many goals. He's tough and versatile...

Sounds like Farren Ray and Sam Dunell. Let's hope we don't accumulate too many of those guys, I'm not sure they're actually that useful in practice.

Schneider was everywhere. He is WAY too good. I would bring him straight in. He played the whole game or just about from what I could see.

I worked out who the #73 was in the second quarter - he had leather poisioning from that point on then. Was in everything & too smart for his opponents.

Seemed to run it out strongly which is a good sign.

Agreed on TDL also.

I'd shove Minchington onto the senior list & get a few games into him. He's a keeper.

I would think he is just easy to notice so when he touched the ball heaps and scored goals he was noticed.

The best come from Sandringham, we don't name them ourselves. The coach also credited Shenton nd said he was one our bests when we interviewed him after game.

As for Dev Squad, clubs have to name 6 players in the best.

I would be pretty sure journalists have nothing to do with bests. All footy scoring is run by sporting pulse and you must give your 6 best no matter if the side doesnt even score. And they are given by the clubs.

Finally a thought out explaination for why ledger hasn't received a game in the seniors.

I get sick of the infantile conspiracy threories on here about so called professionals being so infantile they would stop a player getting a gig because they "hate" them

I seem to remember when i was involved with football (three different codes BTW) there was always a player or two not liked by a coach or teammates but got a game on merit. Always.

I find it almost incomprehensible that people would put forward reasons like this for a player not being selected.

On a side note. I remember last year in a radio interview with Watters he was talking about the young players and mentioned Michington and Ledger in particular as two that were exciting from his PoV, but were 18 months away.

Take from that what you may. Maybe he just suddenly began to hate Ledger for fun
