Windy shitty conditions. Playing much better up by 30 points. We've kicked a billion points. Umpires have probably paid 80 free kicks today. Contests are dead.

124-49 Sandy run out big winners in the end. Milera stretchered off with a knee in the 3rd.

Schneider was everywhere. He is WAY too good. I would bring him straight in. He played the whole game or just about from what I could see.

Going by that you would expect Wright, Ross, Dunell and Ledger to be in the mix this week. TDL will hve to go and dpending on Roberton there should be 2 changes at least. Wright i would have as certain and probably Ross.

Snields was good , I think he should play seniors . Some of the players were hard at it , good to see but there foot skills were average .

I don't understand how professional footballers carn't adapt in windy conditions , even when at sandy there's always a bit of wind .
There was allot of chip kicks which when its windy go anywhere . And allot of shots on goal , players were trying to shape the ball either overdoing it or underdoing it !
Bad luck for milera , but his game was average , oozes class yet always wants it easy .

Even leaving his goals aside Minchington was good. Showed real appetite for the contest and strength around the ball. Our young onballers were given first use all day. Bendigo were woeful in most departments.
Worst on ground though was umpire #36 who paid a series of unnecessary frees 5 seconds apart midway through the third quarter- all to Bendigo. Made a mockery of the sport then and whenever he could all day.I swear I saw him grimace when we kicked on in the last quarter.

Ledger?

Well I'll be?

Will he get a chance, no.... The comment I heard, seems to have some truth?

Least he's still busting a gut, regardless of opportunity, says a bit IMO

Can you elaborate as to what this comment was exactly?

He said the coach hates him. A player told him that.

From what I've seen Shenton just doesn't have a weapon for AFL footy. Not that quick, not that skilled, doesn't rack up big numbers and doesn't kick many goals. He's tough and versatile but wouldn't be able to make the step up.

Ledger deserves a game. been among Sandy's best for weeks. If it's true that the coaches "hate" him, i'd like more info. Lyon "Loved" him when Ledger 1st got recruited.

Interestingly enough Lyon's rookies of Simpkin, Curren and Ledger all seem to have been out of favour with SW this year having to do more than others to earn selection.

I have no idea whether Ledger will make it or not, but I d believe e has done enough to earn a crack at the highest level this year.

IMO the remainder of the year needs to be used to to test out our fringe players + one gave for Kosi to get his 200th as a reward for many seasons of great service.

Of the fringe players Ledger is the main one that needs to be given a crack this year, along with Curren who has only had the one game as a Sub.

Ledger was never a rookie. Was drafted with Cripps and Barry Crocker.

Can only give him a shot?

Not sure what's to lose....

Wright, Ross, Saunders, Murdoch, Webster all leap frogged him with lesser performances at VFL level and less experience??

Curran has matched Ledger in the VFL but as a rookie, went ahead of him also

It's puzzling, which is why I don't disregard the notion of him being out of favour...
