Tonights positives
Newnes, Saunders, Mac, thought Hickey went well, Curran had a good hit out.
Midfield very strong, Armo, Dal, Lenny, Joey all good.
Lee OK in patches.
Thoughts?

Re: Tonights positives
Simpkin was pretty good after a very ordinary start. Jimmy Gwilt's second half was excellent.

Re: Tonights positives
Steven was terrific... his brace in the last nearly won it for us.
Jimmy Webster appeared fired up. He's a goer and with Saunders and Newnes can form an integral part of our next team.

And how about that goal by Jack Steven, clearance, three bounces and slots it from 50 on the run

Gwilt did well as did the whole backline after qtr time, especially after Roberton was KO'd.
Really like the look of who our kids are coming on.
Tonight Newnes, Saunders (hard at it) and Webster looked the goods with Curren going well. With Seb Ross, Wright, Murdoch etc in the wings we do have a future to look forward to.

Re: Tonights positives
Jack Steven is now elite. McEvoy was excellent and is now a consistenly good performer.
Saunders, Newnes, Webster, Hickey, Lee and Curren all look to have promising futures.
Bitterly disappointed with the showing from Stanley and Dennis-Lane.

Re: Tonights positives
Pretty much agree with everything above but I'd like to add Roo's act of leadership by giving Boak (spelling?) a large dose of aggression before half time which lifted the rest of the team for the last 5 minutes of the second quarter and then we were a completely different team in the second half.
Great leadership by the Captain.

Re: Tonights positives
Jack's last quarter was very good. He almost dragged us over the line.
I thought the senior guys really stood up and lead by example. Dal, Joey, Gwilt, Dempster and Roo all good.
A few of the young guys played well. Newnes good all night. Curren did a couple of nice things. Special mention to Saunders who put his head over the ball all night.
I liked seeing Mac floating forward and kicking a few he needs to do it more as he can clunk a mark and become a threat.

Re: Tonights positives
Even though we lost I still think some of the younger guys will now believe they can win games.

Playing well, blooding good young players yet clinging on to that pick 3 in the draft - Priceless!

Re: Tonights positives
What the hell are we going to do without Lenny?
I dont even want to imagine footy without him.

Our front liners were exceptional in the second half though. This brings the kids into the game.

Re: Tonights positives
Looked like that loss hurt them. Good to see. Fuel for the fire that soon will become a raging inferno and gut the competition.
hopefully.
