King rushed the kick because he knew that the OOF free went the wrong way. He admitted that it came from his boot.luc1966 wrote:in the 2003 game when the roos fought back from 40 points down to take the lead with minutes to go and david king had the free kick on the wing. How good is that?noddy04 wrote:Nice to see a younger Saintbrat there cheering the team on
And how good was Harvey? Anyone who watched him closely for 20 years was very very lucky.

What's that bright light on the field? Did games get played in daylight a decade ago?

As good as playing in GFs was that was about my favourite era. Loved the g train and hammer with a heap of great players around them. Bevo recruited us up a great list. There was only optimism in those days as we were obviously just going up and up.

Yeah, what a great few years of footy that was. Other great games:
- the one point win over Brissie in the Troy Schwarze game
- the 90 point win over Carlton in our last game at Princes Park
- the 108 point win over Carlton at Docklands where we didn't quite get to 200 points
- Milney's 11 straight against Brissie
- Guerra's 7 goals against West Coast
- Jimmy Gwilt's cameo off the wing against Adelaide in the Qualifying Final
Heaps more I've forgotten. Such a shame that team never quite got what they probably deserved.

I hated Wanganeen for ever after he killed of their tilt, they probably would have won if they got there.

Whats interesting watching that game is seeing how different the umpiring is !
In the last five minutes i saw about 10 free kicks not paid , if using today's rule's .

Was that Jason Blake in the ruck? Surely not!
We needed a full-time ruckman in that role.
Maybe Michael Rix?
Yeah, Rix would have been much better.
In fact, Rix rox rucks!
