i agree with this- Zac was probably structurally more important than Goddard. Not a better player or anywhere near it but we didn't have anyone else to swap over to.

That may or may not be true, but regardless it'd be great to have 197cm guy who's an actual key defender playing back there. He'd do a better job than Rhys did last night.

I think you will see when we get a KPB that they don't need to rack up numbers or drive the ball out of defence. Brown will punch from behind and make life hard for his opposite number but won't set the world alight. Zac copped heaps because he was seen as a usurper to Max Hudgetons career. He still leads the comp in 1%ers apparently so can't be as bad as people think. He only got destroyed a few times at the Saints but he was a competent defender for most of his time with us.

with a key back, i hope stanley can play the ruck floating defender down back... but unsure as he could be better forward.. he's a hard one atm.

Never mind all that - what difference what it make to have a fit and healthy Fisher, Gilbo and Gwilt out there (Gwilt is not 100%). And maybe even a fit Maister so we at least don't have to play our skipper on one leg.
