Re: So how was it??
No incidents at all near me.
Some mild booing - but no more than he ever gets.
No mention of the R word.
Disappointing that some of our fans were scared off by this.
Hopefully they will return next week.

Re: So how was it??
We were on Level 3 aisle 13-14 and it wasn't too bad. The boos were easy to ignore and when Milne kicked his goals or actually got a free for a perfect tackle we all stood and clapped.
There was one Carlton cretin behind us who thought it would be funny to insult the Saints female behind by referring to her as living in a caravan (maybe others could see the humour, we didn't) but he got told to shut th eff up and he did.
Couldn't help myself making reference to Carlton's richest crook coming from Raheen...... Nothing back one tatone.

Re: So how was it??
It happened as expected
http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/ca ... 6679028195
THE AFL return of St Kilda star Stephen Milne, three weeks after he was charged with rape, has been met with a chorus of condemnation by opposition supporters.
Milne's controversial comeback last night resulted in a vocal response from fans, with an official Carlton cheer squad member among the Etihad Stadium crowd warned by a beefed-up security presence against taunting the Saints forward.
Milne was repeatedly booed and subjected to chants of "rapist" in his first match back from a club imposed hiatus. Changes were made to the teams' prematch warm-up with Saints players instructed to huddle in front of their own fans and avoid opposition supporters in a bid to minimise trouble.
Extra security and police were also positioned behind the Carlton cheer squad.
But it did not stop a Carlton fan shouting: "Get f----- rapist" before the ball had even been bounced.
...And at the 26th minute mark of the first quarter a chant of "Milney's a rapist" rang out.
The apparent ringleader of the chant, wearing a Carlton cheer squad jacket, was seized by security and spoken to at length. He was threatened with eviction but allowed back to his seat after pleading his case.
Minutes later another Carlton supporter shouted: "Who do you have to rape to get a free kick?"
The contentious decision to play Milne, three weeks after he was charged with four counts of rape, drew widespread criticism from sexual assault groups during the week, who said he should be stood down until the case is heard.
It also sparked calls for the AFL to develop stronger rules on how clubs deal with players charged with serious sexual assaults.

Re: So how was it??
Stood right behind the Saints cheersquad, just before the game a few Blues fans said Milne should be in jail.
That didn't go down too well, got very heated, security did nothing, as usual - probably related to the dickheads.
These ugly supporters just continued rubbishing the Saints the whole game.
The only reason I stayed there was to shove it up em if we won. Pity!

AW put their ground reporter in the Blues CS for a short while-- they ( the Blues CS) had apparently been trying to get security to leave them alone....

Re: So how was it??
Some reasonable Blues supporters behind us, talking about how good St Kilda were playing and how they had been a great team, etc etc. Talking about how Jones is fantastic and plays like Carazzo (which is a compliment) amongst themselves.
BUT whenever Milne had the ball, they turned savage, off the wall and unhinged. Then, seconds later, reasonable again.
Apart from the booing, which he has been getting for years anyway, it wasn't too bad, but then again maybe I am just immune to it now.

Ditto. Was behind the goals level 3 Saints CS end and not one rapist mention.Enrico_Misso wrote:No incidents at all near me.

Re: So how was it??
Carazzo and most of his Scum team mates will never experience playing in a GF, so CJ has it over himsamuraisaint wrote:Some reasonable Blues supporters behind us, talking about how good St Kilda were playing and how they had been a great team, etc etc. Talking about how Jones is fantastic and plays like Carazzo (which is a compliment) amongst themselves.

Re: So how was it??
was next to the saints cheer squad and did not hear any nasty comments from blues supporters near us. Was actually a very relaxed friendly atmosphere. However the turn out of saints supporters was absolutely pathetic. Outnumbered 10 to 1 if not more. One of our friends did shift into the vacant seat in front of us as he had a m***n behind him but you get that at any game.

I think we were a couple of rows behind you, trace. Was one of you wearing a 44 jumper?ozrulestrace wrote:We were on Level 3 aisle 13-14 and it wasn't too bad. The boos were easy to ignore and when Milne kicked his goals or actually got a free for a perfect tackle we all stood and clapped.
We were a couple of rows in front of the Carlton moron who kept sooking about the umpires all night. No massive problems on the Milne front.
