Seb Ross
Really great sign.
Looked tired in last 2 or 3 games for the Saints. Was rested and had a week with no footy and then came back and had a cracker for Sandy. Great sign for a young guy. Well done. We have a good un here. Could be our new Lenny.

The Len Dog only averaged 15 disposals in this first 3 years.jonesy wrote:played well as he should be doing, but Lenny,please....
He didn't really step up his game until he was 22-23.
Re: Seb Ross
We don't need an inside mid succession plan for Lenny!
He's playing for 4 more years, and leading us in our next finals campaign at 38yo on one leg, one ventricle and spewing young guys how to do it.
Seb can rest him off the bench for a few years, Ledge and Curran just need to bide their time for 5 or so years

Re: Seb Ross
He had a really strong game, as did Dunnell and Webster.
Really hope Ross builds his tank over the pre-season. Like our other younguns' he needs to be able to gut-run and run out games much more powerfully.

He did,but he also showed plenty to suggest he was going to be very good at bare minimum.Con Gorozidis wrote:The Len Dog only averaged 15 disposals in this first 3 years.jonesy wrote:played well as he should be doing, but Lenny,please....

Not saying Ross can't be very good, but at the moment he's suggesting he will be an ok player ,maybe...
Bring back the Lockett era
Re: Seb Ross
Lenny was good in 2001..... Age 21
Shoulder curtailed hi season, passed 20 disposal 5 times in 13 games and averaged 3t per game
Averaged 20+ and 5 tackles in 2002 and was RU in the B&F
At 23 already a gun and was named captain

Re: Seb Ross
Ross has been way ahead of where I thought he would be after I saw the NAB cup. Well done to him- I think he really could go to that elite level with more time. Lenny has become an icon but I think his greatest attributes are Harvey like- insane application and running until he hurts. If young Ross can have that kind of tutorage from lenny he will get a nice leg up. He has some good role models

He must be s*** then- he should have played 100 games by now if he was any good. they should send him away in shame. I can see the future and I know for a fact that lenny hayes is more awesome than any other young player already on our list will be ever. we should fold the club now because it's all too grim.
15 games and he hasn't even won a Brownlow.
Re: Seb Ross
WCE, Carlton, Freo, Kang, Sydney
2 Brownlow votes in another game also.... You're inaccurate point?

Passed 20 possies would be 21 or more, you haven't passed 20 if you got 20.

Re: Seb Ross
I thought he was very average considering it was a VFL game. He is just so slow in everything he does.
Re: Seb Ross
So in cricket
If you make a century, you haven't passed 100?
I think most people would say
If someone got passed 40 touches, doesn't mean they got 41.... Does it?

Missing something, WCE perhaps.
You can spin all you like doesn't make it correct, as per usual.

Re: Seb Ross
Seb has only just turned 20.
So will still only be 21 at the start of the 2015 season.
Most people say 4-5 pre-seasons is when you step it up. Which is what Lenny did.
So Seb will 22 then - 2016. Hes well on track.

Pretty sure thats baiting but it seems there are rules for some and not others. I feel for Maverick last night. Now BM show us any poster out the hundreds who have said what you are saying. Ross and Lenny have played together this year and unless sub no one rests on the bench. ledger and Curran werent played in any of the ten weeks lenny was out. Either you dont know footy or are baiting. The not quoting obviously works in you favour.

Im just happy with Sebs mental approach.
Some youngsters tend to tire and drop their bundle in July/August.
Jimmy and Seb seemed to have taken a break and refreshed. I like it.

Re: Seb Ross
Did anyone hear Tim Watson talking about Seb tonight? Maybe I'm imagining it, but he could barely say a good word about him.
Either Tim doesn't get along with his sister's family, he's trying not to pump Seb's tyres to keep trade value down and get him to the bombers, or he just plain doesn't think much of him. No words of encouragement.
Jobe didn't set the world on fire early days. Maybe it's tough love in that family.

Thank God for Jack Steven!
Otherwise, poor Seb would be too ashamed to ever show his face at our club.

i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
Re: Seb Ross
I think Timmy didn't wanna be seen pumping up his own family. I have heard him answer that same question on sen a few times. He can't really be compared to tim and jobe
Re: Seb Ross
Based on how Seb played think his comments were fair ...pretty ordinary performance against the Swans..
Jack Newnes happy to be a Saint !!!! PS and to hit a target !!!
Re: Seb Ross
Iv'e a lot of respect for Tim. He's very professional. You can tell that he's made an effort not to gush about Jobe and Essendon all over the air, to the extent that the other SEN guys would almost be baiting him to say something good about Jobe during a season when he won the Brownlow.spot on wrote:I think Timmy didn't wanna be seen pumping up his own family. I don't think he sits well with the role of "unofficial Essendon" spokesman that's been thrust upon him at the moment either.
He's not really the guy to ask about the football performance of Seb. Do we need to ask anyone?
