Not surprising that we couldn't run the game out. I'm satisfied with the effort and intensity. We always seem to play a more rounded team game when roo misses.

Im unsure how the mids playing better is effected by Rooy being out.

Sorry
TDL saad and milera should never ever ever play in the same side.
Sickens me.
How can we carry 3 blokes who only look for easy goals and can't play midfield.

Joke joke joke.

Disgraceful coaching . Watters is deluded if he thinks he can play these guys together.
We need so many mids. Forget Mitch effing Brown.
Get me three midfielders . Ill spew if I have to watch another season with 3 will of the wisp fwds and clint jones out there.
I just can't take it .

He would've been one of our best except every fkn kick of his goes to the opposition.
Yep, ran hard, marked well and provided good pressure but his disposal was horrendous today

You post above is word for word my Bulldogs supporting brother in law told me when I asked his opinion of Ray when we recruited him, except he was specific on days Ray's disposal was horrific

No you didnt. My point still stands because the mids make or break our performance.

Maybe, but at his age he can't afford to be so up and down. I'd rather get another game into Webster or a first game into Curren.

How curren can't get a game but we keep gifting them to tdl and saad who are specialists at getting easy goals in the vfl I just don't understand.
And I'll never understand playing jones ahead of curren.
Ok so jones tries but his efforts are always outweighed by his thickness

At his age, we need him IMO....he is the 'bridge the gap' age we need to keep around.

Its really hard to pick them at the moment, which is a good thing as it means we have at the very least some future prospects. At this stage I'm all for giving all the young blokes a game and seeing how they go, and I think we need to do that as much as possible over the next 2 years to see where out next crop of A graders might come from.

We are playing these 3 guys to see who the cream is that floats to the top. I can see why we recruited TDL and as time goes on it may be more obvious. Our recruiting over the last couple of years seems to of be obsessed with forwards because midfielders and backmen grow on trees

Curren is still a rookie and needs to be elevated before getting a game in the 1's. For that to happen, someone has to go on to the long term injury list.

Was his best coaching performance.

Perhaps not at the selection table, but he coached well, didn't get sucked in to playing chess with Ross.

3 quarters had more to do with legs of the youngins.

didnt watch the game much?
or you dont think Hayes, NDS, Montagna, Armitage, Jones, Steven, are any good
Milera replaced a backman.

and if you dont think we need a 'backman" then you havent seen the saints play in 2012-13

By rights Freo should have smashed us from the first bounce, but they had a real contest on their hands for the best part of this game on their home soil. I think our new blokes are starting to stand up and find their place, and Watters on the flip side is starting to understand what he's working with. We're no Geelong, we've been starved from a gradual injection of youth/talent for quite some time, and now we'll be paying the price. Watters has my approval.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
