I think most will agree that is the only way we will trade away a draft pick.

Agreed, Jiggster. However I will take issue with the caterers. The food at our functions has always been a bit on the ordinary side.

Really sick of hearing sack the coach crap after losing games.
Tell me one team full of duds that had a great coach that one a flag just 1 will do. There isn't one.

You have to have the players end of story.

Put Omeara Wingard Wines Dangerfield Carlisle Joe Daniher in with current group of players and then ask if Watters can
Coach you might be surprised with result next year. Its all about the Cattle.
Have met Scott Watters have you . Have you actually listened to him outside media talk about football.

I have.

His knowledge of the game would leave a lot in their wake.
Just notice 1 player Jack Steven has he improved .( was leaving Stkilda bet you did not know that )
1 reason he stayed SW.

Look at Collingwood they had the best defensive unit in AFL in 2010 since then been in decline their defence coach

Scott Watters.

Come back in 2 years time and then talk about tactics ,structures , he is testing his list in different spots.
As for calls asking for Robert Harvey as some sort of messiah coach are laughable.

What do you call 1 flag in 140 years ?
That's pretty lean.
No sillier than some of the coaches we've had .....

Stkilda will succeed only if they have stability, we are all frustrated it did not happen this decade.

Everyone throws up Hawthorn 16 years ago they were broke , going to merge with Melbourne.
Collingwood were in deep financial trouble.

The only way these clubs survived and flourished was stability Clarkson hardly won a game when he started at Hawthorn

Only with support & working hard they succeeded .

Every Stkilda supporter has to do the same buy a membership next year ,
Tell people like Caroline Wilson that you support the club 101 per cent.
We all know how many flags we have won move forward.

Lloyd21 you have posted 2 really good posts in this thread about our coaching situation and I couldn't agree more with them. As stated, patients is required and while the rebuild is on hopefully our supporters can just try and find other things to take enjoyment out of the club and team because they do exist if you look for them. For me I'm really enjoying focusing on the new guys coming in and seeing if I can pick with objective measure where they are improving. IMO if you do that, then if required you can argue your case a little stronger against the coaches ability to find and develop players that can secure a spot in an AFL side which as somebody else stated in this thread should probably be about 80% of the focus for SW over the next few seasons.

Having said that I think at the half way mark of this season he gets an A for that area of his coaching and hopefully he can hold that grade at the end of this season and beyond.

Patients are what you find in a hospital.
Patience is what we should be showing when discussing the current coaching situation (IMHO)

True Lloyd21, people have to retain membership, and encourage those who have dropped off to get back on.
You mentioned Hawthorn and Collingwood, plus Geelong, what did they do during those lean years, expanded their membership base, despite the lack of on field success.
The more members, the more capital we have to attract the right people, maintain and improve our facilities and keep us competitive and viable for generations of saints fans.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.
