Not sure how you've come to the conclusion that we are any chance with him?

Wasn't he in the running for captain this year?

Not a big chance - we are some chance.
We are no chance at all with taylor yet that gets a run on here.

Im basing it on the 3 things -

Possible relationship with our coach (2 flags at Subiaco)
Discontent at Bris Vegas
Our need for a young mid (or 3)

But look with the draft as it is - our chances of pulling him are very very slim.

Without having seen much of Dan Rich i have a vague impression that he may be more like Nathan Burke than Rob Harvey. I loved both Saints legends but the silk was our dual brownlow medalist. Is Dan Rich cut from the same cloth????
Especially now we really need a Rob Harvey type in the new look St.Kilda we are hoping will emerge.
Somehow we need to locate and bring in the next Robert Harvey or Chris Judd. Richmond for example just look a different team at times with the addition of Cotchin. Judd changed the look of carlton and with a shrewd coach in malthouse they could very conceivably transform themselves into a top 4 side.
D Rich may be available but can we recruit better?
I'm not asking too much am I?

The Snorkel goes okay and the awesome name just adds a bit more the guy who looks like he's from the conan movies at Port would be handy Cane Whatshisname- he was good in the WAFL too.

Actually I think Joffa might be on to the key to recruiting these days. If they don't have a stupid Christian name they shouldn't get drafted. Clay, Dayne, Dane, Steele, Maverick, Jaeger are all awesome because of their names.

I'm general I believe there are no shortcuts .
We need to build our own team.

We might have better luck looking at Gold Coast and GWS kds.If GWS do get Buddy, I would definitely have a go for Paton. GWS cant keep all of them...
