Re: I took banned drug: Watson
lolz at the bombers "confidence" of being cleared!
They injected their players with banned substances in order to gain an advantage over the competition.
At least one player has admitted to taking a prohibited substance.
Rules exist in order to punish those that commit such acts.
Don't concern yourselves with the bluff and bluster as they attempt to stem the bleeding.
Don't concern yourselves with technicalities of the excuses.
All those that have taken prohibited substances will be banned under the WADA code.
And I doubt it will end at essendon.

Re: I took banned drug: Watson
I dont know that much but I believe John Fahey and the ASADA lady (cant remember her name) who said they don't do that kind of thing.plugger66 wrote:
Con how do you know so much? it may not be a letter anyway. It could be a receipt as suggested. It maybe all lies. i still dont get their confidence. If i thought i was guilty I would be trying to make the supporters think there is a chance of guilt. They are making their supporters think there is no hope of guilt. And if they dont do letters how do they tell people about a substance?

I think they will say to the AFL and ASADA that they know that both dropped the ball with the Pies winning one on borderline practices and Geelong before them and they will blackmail their way out of it.

I don't think that I would want premiership/s under those circumstances. For mine, premierships are won on the day !!gringo wrote:I think they will say to the AFL and ASADA that they know that both dropped the ball with the Pies winning one on borderline practices and Geelong before them and they will blackmail their way out of it.

Nope. Cotch and Mitchell get nothing.
If jobe gets it taken then someone else couldve got the votes he got thus possibly changing the order of the top 5 or so.

just to be crystal clear on this - here is the relevant regulation. everything else is spin and white noise.
S0. NON-APPROVED SUBSTANCES
Any pharmacological substance which is not addressed by any of the subsequent sections of the List and with no current approval by any governmental regulatory health authority for human therapeutic use (e.g drugs under pre-clinical or clinical development or discontinued, designer drugs, substances approved only for veterinary use) is prohibited.

Re: I took banned drug: Watson
U can't give premierships to the listing side.
If actual cheated all year the other 22 sides they played might've won and be in a diff ladder position.
Too much could have changed.

Again Con if it is that simple why is it taking so long and why are guilty players allowed to play when they admit use. pretty sure it isnt that simple.

But at least Watson's brownlow is safe.
James Turd announced it today.

Re: I took banned drug: Watson
They are also investigating other substances. There also has to be a formal ruling. ASADA cant just ban people by ringing up the AFL.plugger66 wrote:Con Gorozidis wrote:just to be crystal clear on this - here is the relevant regulation. everything else is spin and white noise.

Always been a fan of Watson, now he's gone up a few pegs in my book. No lies or hiding the bulls***. He's a better man than most.
It does mean that awards should be stripped though. The rest of the Bombers and the coach to follow.

I agree. No shame in saying hey this is what happened. I accept it is a strict liability offence. Ill cop a 12 month whack and I've learnt my lesson.
It is all the covering up and deceit that s***s me.
From a financial perspective the club is obligated to pay him because it was their negligence that caused him to be banned.

You are going to be disappointed if you think they will get 12 months. i reckon 6 months maximum and even though hardly anyone will agree 6 months is enough. Like everyone at every AFL club they trusted the club. if our club were stupid enough to do the same you can bet our players would have done the exact same thing. i blame the club much more than the players. Im just unsure what the punishment can be for them that will really hurt without hurting the competition to much.

Hird admitted to injections of melanotan and other experimental drugs. Hird injected substances that are yet to be approved by the Australian TGA, the US FDA or the European Medicines Agency. What the hell was he thinking injecting these substances at the football club??Munga wrote:Always been a fan of Watson, now he's gone up a few pegs in my book. No lies or hiding the bulls***. A bloke that is willing to experiment with risky pharmaceutical substances is not a person I'd want in charge of my kids health. A person who injects risky drugs like that is highly likely imo to want to promote and encourage others to follow his lead. That's the perception that hasn't fully been dealt with by the AFL, although for a fleeting moment Demetriou did want Hird to stand down after some of those revelations

Its 12 months.
They arent children.
Anyone who doesnt cooperate is up for 2 years. 12 months is already a let off.
Can I ask you if the Chinese swim team - many of who are only teenagers with little education and would NEVER question their coaches - are put on a ped regime by their coaches should they also be let off with just 6 months or is there a separate rule for white people?

Re: I took banned drug: Watson
The football media have taken a softly, softly approach to the Golden Boy too. There could be a lot of egg on a lot of faces when this all finally comes to an end. Having said that, quite a few journos are starting to change their tune now that Jobe has admitted he took AOD !!Scollop wrote:Hird admitted to injections of melanotan and other experimental drugs.
