Players on the chopping block or are they
Why does Tom Curran for one not get a game surely after some of his games he needs a crack if Sam Fisher is gone for the year give him a game to see if hes got it before the end of the year, I also like that Cam Shenton has been played more in his proper spot in the forward line
Also is there any reason we also wouldnt give Spencer White a go after Kosis surpassed his 200th game to see how he will go Ive heard hes being held back for next year well forget that isnt it about giving him a few games so come when he has to play he will be a 5 game player rather than untried?
Im very happy with most of the players tried this year especially Josh S & Nathan W
Sad about Ledger if he was 2" taller he would be great as for him butchering the ball well wheres the help from our coaches to get him right?
What about Sam Crocker?
Very very impressed with Dylan R

From all reports he's doing very well on the masthead, however I've chosen a different colour scheme and can't see him.mrkiss wrote: What about Sam Crocker?

Why?
Re: Players on the chopping block or are they
Crocker was delisted the end of last year mrkiss, not sure why he remains on the banner.
This year SS is sponsoring only Jackson and Daniel.

Just on Sam Crocker, he's played entire season in Development Squad for Box Hill. No real surprise that he hasnt been able make step up to Senior VFL footballSainterK wrote:Crocker was delisted the end of last year mrkiss, not sure why he remains on the banner.

That's a shame, he was supposed to be able to kick the footy.stkildathunda wrote:Just on Sam Crocker, he's played entire season in Development Squad for Box Hill. Doesn't come easy this AFL footy business, gotta earn it.
Re: Players on the chopping block or are they
Kosi and Blake to retire. Hayes maybe.
Jones and Ledger probably more likely than others to get delisted.

There is also Milne who now probably will retire. I reckon if hayes gets through the year then he will play on. Not sure we need to lose that much experience.
Re: Players on the chopping block or are they
why Jones to be delisted if Gears becomes our tagger then we lose a valuable running player from the backline?

Re: Players on the chopping block or are they
Really think Hayes should most definitely play on next year, as long as his body allows him to get through the rigors of pre season, etc...
See no point in him stepping aside when he's clearly able to deliver more than the next in line mid, and we will lose at least 3/4 senior players at years end... That's more than enough at the older end of the scale, not including the delistings...

Re: Players on the chopping block or are they
i dont think Jones will be delisted ... Lenny will prob play another season .... Blake and Kosi will retire (i reckon Kosi is keen to do what Loewe did when he retired and pass on the jumper to one of the up and comers).... Milne i reckon might just call it a day... the odd one would be Shnieds , cant seem to get on the park any more might be the body telling him its time , i reckon he would love to keep on playing but he might just get the tap on the shoulder

I think with wright and saunders coming on - and no doubt we will get a young gun midfielder in the draft - i just don't see any room for cj on the list - even as insurance.st_Trav_ofWA wrote:i dont think Jones will be delisted ... You can't play all the kids at once. It's impossible in modern footy. Even when you're rebuilding you need to keep a mix of experience and youth.

But there is no fear of that happening at our club.
Roo, NDS, Joey, Dempster, Gilbo, Fisher, Gears, Armo, Gwilt, Ray, Schneider and Beau are all seasoned campaigners and most of them (if not all) will be there in 2014.

I'm just hoping Michael Frost comes good, simply not doing enough after we traded pick 8 for him.Sobraz wrote:Great point...mrkiss wrote: What about Sam Crocker?

I cant see how you can claim Beau as an experienced campaigner, he has not player 30 games has he? Admittedly he is older and wiser than our other recent recruits.

David Strooper to make a comeback - oh and his headband.
Lance or James??

Re: Players on the chopping block or are they
I'd say the following players aren't guaranteed a spot for next year
Blake
Curren (r)
Dennis-Lane
Dunell
Ferguson (r)
Hayes
Jones
Koschitzke
Ledger
Lever
Maister
Milera
Milne
Minchington (r)
Ray
Schneider
Shenton (r)
Simpkin
Staley (r)
I'd hope the list changes end up being something like this, though I doubt it will happen
Retired: Blake, Koschitzke, Milne
Delisted/traded: Jones, Lever, Milera, Dennis-Lane, Shenton (r), Ferguson (r)
Delist and rookie: Maister
Upgraded: Curren
That leaves 7 spots on the senior list open and 2 on the rookie list. Room for 4 draft picks, 1 pre season draft pick and 2 free agents.
