Kosi's 200th
So assuming he'll play (no Maister) - that means the trip to Perth v Freo will be his 200th. Rotten place to celebrate. Or should the Saints rest him a week and let him have his 200th v Carlton at Etihad? Prefer that myself. He didn't set the world on fire but with Maister out and our final chances gone - you gotta let him reach his 200th.

Re: Kosi's 200th
Rest him?
In all honesty he doesn't deserve a spot.
He will have to wait for some appropriate games where we can "nurse" him over the line.

You reckon he doesn't deserve it but the coach does. You don't have a say!Enrico_Misso wrote:Rest him?

Absolute champion of a person and has been at the very least serviceable as a player. Richly deserves his 200th. Ill be wearing my #23 jumper with pride all week when he gets it

Re: Kosi's 200th
He deserves his 200th and will clearly get it.
His 200th game MUST be a home game to help us financially.
That means given our next 3 games are away, he should play just one of those games and his 200th vs Port at Etihad on Saturday 20 July.
If he can play two consecutive games, I'd drop him for the next two matches and bring him back for Carlscum the week prior to Port.

Re: Kosi's 200th
Been a great clubman as demonstrated by the fact that he didn't spit it and retire when overtaken for a spot. Plenty would have.
The same goes for Jason Blake btw.
The picture of Kosi and Riewoldt singing the club song is a beauty. Kosi looks so happy to be a part of it.
Deserves his 200 and that's coming from someone who has been both a critic and a fan over the rears

Re: Kosi's 200th
I guess there's no other tall putting their hands up at Sandy, so Kosi will stay until Maister returns. The sad thing s that Kosi is not even a shadow of the player he was.
Re: Kosi's 200th
Who are Sandy playing this week? My dees supporting mate figured they played him vs Melbourne simply to give him a rest as his VFL game would probably be tougher!!
I love Kosi, while he was never the same after Gia, I still love Kosi and will be there for his 200th! Glad romance in footy isn't dead.

Re: Kosi's 200th
Surely they arent resting him to play a home game in Melbourne. Doesnt deserve to play on yesterdays performance but will because it seems no other tall is pushing for a spot. He will play next week and if he performs even ordinary who will play the following week. He would have to have no possessions to get dropped. Great performance by any player to reach 200 games and especially kosi with injuries and form.

Re: Kosi's 200th
I think everone agrees that he deserves his 200th.
And everyone will be congratulating him when he gets it.
But few will suggest picking him the following week.
Ideal scenario ...
Announces his retirement at the start of the week before his 200th - choose a home game at Jihad
Gets a big home crowd - video tribute - the guard of honour - banner - tosses the coin.
Then after the game - the lap of honour and finally maintains the Loewe tradition and hands over the No. 23 to his annointed successor.
Walks off to applause and a hero.

It looks like Kosi's leadership skills were sadly missed for Sandy today!
its time to make a name for yourself like you've never made before!

Re: Kosi's 200th
While Kosihas struggled for periods of time I wouldn't say his best was before the Gia contact.St Ick wrote:Who are Sandy playing this week? My dees supporting mate figured they played him vs Melbourne simply to give him a rest as his VFL game would probably be tougher!!

I seem to remember a period of 5 games where he absolutely starred and collected a number of Brownlow votes at the same time. This was post Gia.
He seems to start well but falls away in games when the opposition man up and start running off him.
Hope he gets another go soon to past his milestone.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Re: Kosi's 200th
If you're talking about the famous 4 games when he got 11 votes that was pre Gia (2005). I think the knock definitely effected him but he has had some good periods since. Just never had the consistency. Would love his 200th to be in Melbourne for his sake has been a good clubman and by all accounts a good bloke tookalsaint wrote:While Kosihas struggled for periods of time I wouldn't say his best was before the Gia contact.St Ick wrote:Who are Sandy playing this week? In 2002 Koschitzke played just four games in an injury-riddled season. His quad and hamstring injuries continued to cause him trouble into 2003 and 2004 when he missed five and eight games respectively.
I think a lot was back related. Then the concussion was really the icing on the cake.
