Re: Sack Milne.
Superboot, the (alleged) actions of police officers to provide "assistance" to Milney have, as I said caused more trouble for the club, than if matters had been dealt with PROPERLY at the time. Stephen Milne, like any member of society, has the right to a "presumption of innocence until proven guilty" the actions of these reprobates (if proven) have pretty well scuttled any "presumption of innocence" in the wider public's view. Not only this, but also IF Milne was guilty of the offences, then what sort of a life has the young woman had to endure for the past nine years? Is she not entitled to a just outcome? I repeat what I stated earlier. No stone should be left unturned to investigate all the allegations against these policemen.

If people don't understand this they should not comment. Lovett is pond scum, and proved it at least 4 times in the 5 minutes he was at our club. We wont even discuss the women bashing episodes whilst at his REAL HOME, ESSENDON. The hysterical morons ringing radio stations and posting on other forums are ill informed dropkicks. I feel genuinely sorry for their families and pets.SainterK wrote:Three reasons...The Fireman wrote:Can we sack some of our supporters???
PS Lovett went for more than one reason.
Arrested for a drunk and disorderly
Unfit state to training
(Also alleged to have missed other training sessions)
Final straw incident
Shouldn't of got him in the first place, but I disgress...

Fraaak off ... what about innocent til proven guilty.saintspremiers wrote:I know this is a difficult thing and on the surface the wrong thing to say, but he has to go IMO, regardless of the court proceedings.
It's simmered away under the surface for years, we need sponsors to be on board and the club needs to control the club not the players.
Plus the AFL appear to want Milne out and we can't pretend to fight them given where we are now.
I loved watching Milney play - an absolute champ, gave me lots of pleasure watching him over the last decade, but reality bites and it's time to make that really tough call if he won't do it himself.
Sorry guys...

that is my friend...a very unproven allegation at this time...in fact an earlier investigation cleared the cops pf any wrong doing......we should all just wait and see before sticking an oar in ....thejiggingsaint wrote:Superboot, the (alleged) actions of police officers to provide "assistance" to Milney have, as I said caused more trouble for the club, .

Don't understand this site, so many people go the man not the ball! OP is entitled to his opinion, if you disagree then argue your point don't attack the man.
I have a lot of love for Milne the footballer but OP may be right, not so much about sacking him but I'm not sure he can play until this is cleared up, guilty or innocent he may run out of time to pull on boots for Saints again!
In this modern age of sacking blokes for pissing on windows or being out late I can't believe so many are surprised at the clubs position!

Couldn't be less constructive than this thread has been. Go back and have a read. Whole bunch of people think its rubbish. There's at least three other threads discussing his future but you have to start your own , using as usual an inflammatory tabloid headline..just in case it doesn't get attention.saintspremiers wrote:Piss off. Well looks like I may have egg on my face and Milne is likely to have no case to answer from a well connected source I've spoken to tonight. Would be good of true for all concerned.

Re: Sack Milne.
If true saintspremiers, then I'd love to know why the Police decided to charge him after a review instigated by the OPI. They will look absolutely ridiculous if they don't convict him knowing full well the ramifications a charge of this nature have against the sport/person let alone the families etc.. involved.saintspremiers wrote:Well looks like I may have egg on my face and Milne is likely to have no case to answer from a well connected source I've spoken to tonight. Care to give us a vague insight into your source??
Don't get me wrong - I'd love to see the charges dropped etc.. (assuming he is innocent) That would really give Milne and the club a leg up if/when supporters/media taunt him in the future.

So the cops are just granstanding. That would make them look even more silly. I reckon this will get to trial otherwise the whole lot of them should be sacked. happy if it doesnt but then how would Milne and especially the girl feel if it doesnt. Im going to guess the board member knows Jack just like most of us.

Re: Sack Milne.
Unfortunately for Milne it all sounds very political regarding the police investigations, during the past nine years the case has been investigated by other agencies who reported that evidence was not destroyed or tampered with. The Policemen who have stated the they were told to" sweep everything under the carpet" no longer work for the police force, if that instruction was given to them nine years ago, when they did work for the police force, why didn't they report this to their superiors at the time.? The police are supposed to up hold the law, and had a moral obligation to do this at the time, obviously if it was true then they behaved in a gutless manner. Why now do they come out and make statements about tampering with evidence etc.? and have a attitude of righteousness, they could have done the right thing 9 years ago, and it would have been over and done with for both parties, I am not sure what they hope to gain, but with all the publicity and loopholes in this case, I cannot see how it could go to trial under the circumstances.
