You are very confusing. You are saying it is hard to prosecute these cases at the best of time and then say Milney has almost zero chance of getting a fair trial. That is having it both ways.

I'm saying it shouldn't be prosecuted because of time and a zero chance of a fair trial. I heard someone today saying he knew Milne was guilty and should be gaoled. He won't be able to be tried in Victoria with out a huge amount of personal bias, preconception of his guilt or innocence and media offering opinion that could seriously damage his chances of receiving the same outcome as someone walking up off the street.

I see your loving the circus you old drama queen- you have been longing for the down fall of the team for years and are in your element trying to salt the forums wounds as usual.

You are pathetic. I hate this happening and i post the same whether something good or bad happens. You posts continue to make no sense. How many mates have you spoken to about every topic this week and how many people do you know who know someone else. Re read what you have written on this and explain it in in English instead of Gringo. I know him, I heard that, I know someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows Gringo.

And I think everyone will be great for the saints.

Well, my opinion is I think SainterK and Con G's comments have lot of merit.

Can I add, I take it that the Saints Board's decision means that any afl player charged with a criminal offence will now be suspended in like manner.....or worse, have his tenure terminated? Is this what it means?

Is it the nature of Milne's alleged offence that warrants such action, or is across the board with all (serious) charges?

In relation to some posters assumptions, if it turns out there wasnt enough evidence to get a successful prosecution against S. Milne, down the track, then it wouldn't be the first time Police hand has been forced, by factors at play, I wouldnt reckon.....and bugger the outcome.

Can I have a day or two to form an opinion on this? I'm still arguing with myself on all that has happened in the past 24 hours or so !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

I reckon every club had different policies. I think the word Rape scares any club.

You are deliberately doing your "stirring up" of people for your own amusement again is my guess. You offer no strong opinions other than contrary ones opposed to others.

You are actually one of the dumbest people on here. pretty strong opinion at the start of this thread and pretty strong opinion on the morons thread about the 2009 season. And I would never stir up things for my own amusement on such a serious case. It is a pathetic and disgusting thing to say about me or anyone else. I have done many things for this club and Im guessing many more things than you have ever done. I can handle any criticism if it isnt an important thread but for you to say things like that is disgusting. Its lower than low. If we had some mods on here i think I would actually complain for the first time Im that angry. I actually know Milney enough to say Gday and I would never do what you have accused me of here. If you had any balls you would apologise on what you have said. And maybe for the first time ever on here I am actually really upset. You are pathetic.

Milney....I'm so torn on this. I love the guy as a player. Legend of the club who has given so many memories.

But I know umpires hate him everyone calls him a rapist. It tarnishes the reputation of the club so much having him around.

But its Milney for f**** sake! The little champ. Part me wants him to stay at club, be proven innocent , then play on for a final year of "fdk you" tohis critics and haters.

Part of me wants him to retire so the club can finally be rid of the baggage he carries.

I'm with you, just numb and part of me just wishes it would go away and I didn't have to explain to my kids what was happening and stuff but it's kind of like a funeral right now. Seeing him winning mark of the year nom. for round 11 and remembering his great games hurts now.

No he should definitely NOT retire (unless he is planning to plead guilty).
Disgraceful the way the Board has shafted him.

He must be feeling dreadfully let down by Alwaysaway and his PR advisors.
Time Westaway stuck up for a club legend instead of listening to ponytailed PR advisors.

The chances of being convicted are low around 30%

I'd suggest the AFL wouldn't have allowed it.

I really don't see how anyone could think it would've happened or how it could've worked.

And what would've been preferable is for him to see this and step himself aside (with assurances) pending a resolution.

Now it's messier than it needed to be.

Good call. Sux to be Milney, and I love the guy for his on-field exploits. But he might have actually done damage to an innocent victim. Maybe this woman has been trying to deal with something horrible for nine years and this is a step towards getting her some closure. Honestly, none of us know what actually happened or the effect of it on either party, so I don't know how people can have strong opinions on it.

Agree... I think it's safe to say that at the very least something unsavoury went on, and it's up to Milne to own and deal with that, not the club and it's backers.

But wish him the best, hope it all somehow gets resolved positively for all involved soon and he can maybe play on next year.
