I just watched the LOST series for the first time - and it seems exactly like that on here - we cannot leave the island and NO ONE else can get to the island!

Re: The Top 10 SS Posters of the first Decade!
I think I was on sainters.com forum, then shifted to here somewhere around 2002/03. Had some great chats back then with brat, AOK and the gang. I remember barks4eva mailing me a VHS tape of a classic game I missed, you don't forget that stuff.
Much love to all the Saints family.

Don't post much, but read all the time. P66 makes me giggle more than any other poster. Even when he is trying to be serious.

Re: The Top 10 SS Posters of the first Decade!
Always enjoy a flashback.
I started late 90's - back in the Saints site "chat" days.....still recall asking GT bout his "I'll step aside if theres a better candidate..." and arguing with Noddy..
Good days, some great posters and some you just had to laugh at - St Kunny......amazed if he's not been murdered.
Havent seen Saynta in ages too she was good value
JeffDunne was another who was always strong on his views here and at BF....dont know what become of him and JoffaBurns made more sense than many....

OK so it is my opinion that it was 1999 sometime, but it could have been later ...saintbrat wrote:and a snap shot history of SS

1999?
My guess is based on:
* I had met Damien in 1997 (through WWF)
* 1999 was the year that I moved to USA and found here and the chat room (I rarely went to chat because of time differences and lack of time)
* this place must have existed in 2000 ... in the Tim Watson years ... as I remember posting a long tribute to a man who tried and failed but did it with grace
* the first major crash I think was caused by DOMAIN EXPIRY in January or so 2002 ... I think that crash lead to the Chinese restaurant fundraiser
Probably only Damien himself or John his dad could really help us out with an exact date of year ... my guess 1999 or 2000.
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

1) Who will be premiers?
PORT ADELIADE <-- was 1 year early
2) Wooden Spooners
CARLTON <-- was Bulldogs but Carlton won it in 2005 and 2006
3) The Brownlow winner will be??
WOEWOEDIN <--- Buckley, Goodes and Ricciuto grrrrr
4) The Saints will finish?
7TH <-- 11th (two games and % from 7th)
5) The surprise packet will be?
FREMANTLE <--- pretty good as they jumped from 13th to 5th
6) The disappointment will be?
ESSENDON <--- dropped from 5th to 8th
7)The Saints best and fairest will be?
RIEWOLDT <--- was Hayes with Riewoldt winning in 2002 and 2004 grrrr
8)The most improved player
MOYLE (WILL FIX HIS KICKING I HOPE) <---- had a crap year and the start of his decline
9) The best recruit?
POWELL <--- think I got that one right averaged 21 disposals, 2 tackles and almost a goal a game
10) The saints leading goal kicker
RIEWOLDT <--- Gehrig 55, Riewoldt 30
11) Will spend most time on the bench
CAPUANO <--- he was sacked mid season so I reckon I got that one
12) Player who will spend most time on the injury list
CALLAGHAN (HAS A HEAD START) <--- was too easy - did not play whole season
13) What is the Saints weakest position on the field
RUCK <--- worse once Capuano was sacked!
14) Who on the list do u c as a waste of space (please leave age aside)
CALLAGHAN - WOULD HAVEBEEN GONE IF NOT CONTRACTED & INJURED <--- would have looked like a genius if I had picked Capuano
15) If u could recruit a player of reasonable status (not a superstar) who would it be and y?
RAY HALL, RICHMOND ... CAN RUCK OR PLAY KEY POSITION <---actually in the end he sucked ... BAD CALL
16)Where would u like to see St.kilda play. Anywhere
COLONIAL OR MCG <--- where else?
17) When if ever do u predict a premiership
2004-2009 - HOPEFULLY A FEW YEARS IN THERE <--- oh dear ... we did miss our "window"
18) Biggest/Worst administration blunder made by Saints in last 10 years. Can include Lockett leaving, Watson appointment, delisting players; that sort of things.
IDIOTS IN THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT THAT FAILED TO KEEP OUR MEMBERSHIP AFTER 1997 AND 1998. DISGRACEFUL. HAVE THEY EVER HEARD OF DATABASE MARKETING AND DIRECT SELLING? <---- solved by David Friend ... and then hasn't been as good since he left

Another one who doesnt think there are any good posters now. very strange. i think there are many good posters. Hilarious that some one would blame me for others not posting but they still post. Actually moronic.
