wheres tom simpkin
Does anybody no why tom simpkin has not played many games this year, after last years good form, I thought he was for sure in our best 22.

Been injured, played well for Sandy today.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
Re: wheres tom simpkin
Yeah he did play well today, especially when switched forward. He does have a little versatility

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
Re: wheres tom simpkin
Forward might be a good option for him.... As a power back he's not an option.... As a medium back, we have better options...
He would be more a Hamill, Rooke, Hahn, McAffer/Goldsack style third tall who provides a contest

Re: wheres tom simpkin
he has done better in recent weeks when the Umpires have stoppped giving 50's if the player is touched as it's marked and sneezes before picking up the ball.

Would he be a macqualter style defensive forward? Would live to see him trialled in that role.

Re: wheres tom simpkin
I can't see Simpkin playing forward in the seniors. Just doesn't have the offensive skills, quick thinking and reading of the play to make it as an AFL forward. I do think he should be in the side to take the third tall/medium forward though. He's far better defensively than Gwilt and is a reasonable user of the footy. But it's his insane tackling and bumps that set him apart - he genuinely lifts the team through these acts.

Re: wheres tom simpkin
I suggested he is tried as the third tall or midfield but Plugger told me I was a fool for suggesting it. He has lost that spot to Roberton and isn't a full back so it's midfield or forward or no more career. He is aggressive and competitive and would be worth a go.

And the point of that post is what? If we wrote down every suggestion you have had you have maybe got 1% right and this one isnt right yet anyway unless he plays in the seniors as a forward. And I thought you only suggested mid anyway and that is truely laughable.

99.9% right. Good to see you back old fella. Every time you go missing I think you've spun of your mortal coil down at the parlours. The point is to ridicule you for ridiculing anything you don't agree with.

Re: wheres tom simpkin
I thought simkin played most of last year at full back and did realy well , personly dont think there would be any problem with simpkin more of a stay at home backman, Roberton more of a rebounding defender, gwilt, fisher, dempster, geary as our back six. & put stanley back in the forward line.
