Strong is a good word. Strong mids, strong forwards, strong backmen. They MUST have strong character or proven leadership qualities if they are kids make sure they're kids with strong minds. E.g. Draft picks who have been captains in their junior footy
mini was captin of vic country under 16 and under 18 sides.......   ...first requirement afaic is you gotta be able to play and get the footy......

I cannot believe how many cliches that are in the above post.

These men are 18 and 19 years old, how on earth do they have a strong anything?

Leadership, character (WTF is that anyway?), minds?

The only way you find out is finding out through time. Simple.
as a guy who was always captain in most of my teams from footy basketball i can honestly say it was qualities other than sporting prowess that got me the gig.

Leadership is great but skill to me is a little more important. i would rather Steve Johnson than Tom Scully or some staid guy with immaculately pulled up socks and a tucked in jumper. F%$# good blokes bring on talented tools.

I don't care about his form today his AFL form is very good for a player his age. Hope his stocks drop and we can get him cheaper then. Offer WCE money for Gaff too he's down this year get some bargains.

Guy is great, fast skillful, i know he's older then what we would want but i could see him fit in real well with us.. Worth going for him if he's looking to leave the SCUM?
exactly what we need, another half back flanker

Note the bit where I said ridiculous sums of money.

We already have many bit players, and some of them are flashy too.
Yarran is OK...BUT what we really, really need area couple of players that you can build your team around.

We need some CREAM, that drag others along with them.

The next Lenny....
