Frawley - "I might be a sneaky chance for St Kilda."

To against that is.
Time for St Kilda fans to give up hope of getting Frawley. The fact is, if by someone miracle he actually says he wants to play for the Saints at the end of the year, he is still contracted and in order to get him across, it would take a fair bit in a trade with Melbourne (More than he would be worth). Unfortunately no, Ray + a 2nd rounder won't cut it.

Not that I know much about this but as if he's going to say "yeah I'll pbly leave at the end of the season to go to the Saints or the highest bidder".

Frawley is now 24. He's too old for what we want.
We need to recruit guns who are 21 or 22 and no older that will be in their prime in 5 years when hopefully we next make the finals.
Blease please.

When was the last 'gun' at 21-22 that actually got traded?

Aaron Hammil was 23 at the start of 2001 when he came to us, and it worked well.Spinner wrote:saintspremiers wrote:Frawley is now 24. He's too old for what we want.

But that's my point. We are so far down the bottom of the cycle why bother with those older than 21/22 or at most 23?

Because a 24 y.o can play for 7 to 8 years especially in the backline. Dustin Fletcher has played 14 seasons past his 24th year.
you want us to do a Melbourne and get rid of all the experienced players? Really some of your statements border of assanine and extremely dumb.
Lance or James??

Still not convinced we'd land him.
He if wants to get away from losing, we may not be in the right phase for him.

But if he swears not to tell anyone else we could confide that we're just tanking and that we're really a Top 4 sideSainterK wrote:Still not convinced we'd land him.

No, pretty much from anyone who has read your blatherings or has met you, that you are the dumb one.saintspremiers wrote:JB did I say I want to eat rid of the older players?

Dont feel bad, jsut the way it is.
Lets take your scenario to its logical conclusion.
We get lance Franklin for nothing as a FA. You wopuld not take him because he is not 21 0r 22.
Wh have a HUGE hole in our list between the 28 + y.o.s and the 20-22 y.o.'s but you wouldn't trade for anyone over 22 even if they were needed like a key back or a quality mid?
Really your thoughts sometimes aren't really thought through. Its like dealing with a 12 y.o.
Must try harder D-

While a agree with you on Frawley, you do have a habit of starting some inane threads. Re: Frawley - "I might be a sneaky chance for St Kilda."
How many times have we heard players say, we are happy where I am then lo and behold they change, so who knows. He could stay, then he could leave. As long as we dont pay overs for him, would be good to see a Frawley in the red white and black, but if he doesn't then it is not the end of the world. Just as long as we beat Melbourne, then he might change his mind

Don't take it personally saintspremiers, you cant help being shown up by someone with my superior intellect.
Its a burden for me, dealing with lesser lights, but I am tolerant and patient, and I am sure you will see the light with my guidance.

Well next year may be a better time to target him. I'm sure there will be some questions asked to his management and then it may be what were willing to pay. Then again after Mitch Brown last year perhaps were willing to offer the world. Who knows.Saintersss wrote:http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-06-10/f ... gling-dees

We're Hamill and Gehrig too old when recruited in 2000/01??
Can't have a whole team of kids.... We actually need some quality from 24-28

People say don't worry about frawley he's to old or why would he come to us as we are hopeless etc ... But if we get Frawley then others may come as well because we got Frawley !! it would be a sign to other players at other clubs that we might be on the improve sooner rather than later.

On the question of age, the Saints tried to get Doc over for years before he finally crossed Bass Straight. Does anyone remember how old he was when he first played for us?
