Not a defensive bone in the three of them. I then look at Saunders who has plenty more to offer and has a defensive side to his game. Saunders should always play before these three as we need to get 50 games into him.

At the game he was doing plenty of defending not just waiting. He does struggle to crunch in a tackle but he was going for them.

He had a very un-TDL like game. Usually he struggles to get more than a few kicks but is deadly with them. Instead he got a fair bit of the ball and wasted simple opportunities. Perhaps the increased work rate took its toll on his kicking.

Certainly had a better game than any MIlera has played this year and better than most that Saad has. I wouldn't be getting too excited though, the Eagles didn't pay much attention to our smalls and were more focused on getting drive from defence.

He'll now get a chance for a few weeks to show if he has anything to offer. Saad surely has to be dropped and Milera should not be brought back unless he hits incredible VFL form and starts applying quality defensive pressure. I'm not convinced that we can have more than one specialist small forward though - I'm certain that our last quarter fade outs are strongly linked to us carrying three small forwards in most matches instead of having extra midfield rotations.

+1. My thoughts exactly. Need forwards that can have a spell in the middle.

Very astute post MSG that the club ought to note. I think you may br right.

On Sunfay's form I reckon TDl could spell in the midfield and Saad probably can't. Milera possibly could, but needs to be stronger at the ball.

Milne can, in short bursts, but, worringly, is still our most potent avenue to goal.

Not unless he plays a decent amount of good games in the last half of the season. It's his first serviceable game for us remember.

It is worth having a quick look at this post-game interview with TDL.

Seems like a good quality guy and one who would be very coachable.

I wasn't impressed because the good things he did in the game should be standard .

Numerous times when WC had the ball , he didn't know where to run to . defensively he is average !

And the easy set shots he missed , As a small forward who doesn't get much of the ball you've got to make the most of your shots at goal !
