Maister
Ill never bag this bloke again. Playing an awesome game against his old side.
He was hopeless against the Crows - but rushing him back after a month off when he had no touch was just poor coaching/selection. Not really his fault.

Re: Maister
He had a very good game. Back to pre injury form. I happily admit I was wrong when I said he's a worthless inclusion. This week

Re: Maister
He was ok but I would not getting carried away. It was pretty obvious at the time that he needed to kick that goal for us to win. Instead, it gave WCE possession and the rest is my sh!t train ride home.

Re: Maister
Played a good game tonight, beside missing one he should have nailed. Agree though that he is better against average opposition, not going to take us up the ladder. But a good strong professional player who has earned his games
Re: Maister
If we're talking about the one that old hav counted, Joey 20m out with 2 team mates in the goal square with a few minutes on the clock. Game over!Greg T wrote:Missed that 1 that would of counted....

Speaking of missing big moments check out the 8 minute mark of the second quarter.SainterK wrote:Not convinced sorry, plays well but in big moments drops marks or kicks behinds.

Beau on the lead with 2 WCE behind him.....and the player running at him in the clear kicks it wildly over his head rather than to Beau's advantage.
Beau is no star, but he played well tonight.

Re: Maister
Would have been the hero had of he kicked accurately with that set shot he missed in the final couple of minutes. I had that awful feeling in the pit of my stomach that West Coast would go coast to coast after that.
But Beau definitely looked a much better player today. He provided the forward line with some poise that has been greatly lacking in recent times. Hopefully he'll bring more of the same to the table after his efforts today.

Re: Maister
Cost us the game with his ordinary kicking, dropped sitters and falling over his own feet when he allowed his opponent to run the length of the ground and kick the winning goal.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

Great work ethic, does his absolute best....
Just can't keep a cool head under pressure.
We do need someone up there next to Nick though.

Re: Maister
Yes he did well.
But my abiding memory of him from this game is conceding the winning goal.
All he had to do was keep his feet and corner his opponent near the point post - instead he was flat on his face while the guy waltzed unchallenged in to goal.

Re: Maister
Bit harsh. Didn't drop too many sitters. Kicking was bad, and the fall was costly. But he was buggered. Maybe that event will prompt him to think about how, if possible, he can improve his fitness but just 1%. We all know they (the 1% ers) make all the difference in tight finishes.Bernard Shakey wrote:Cost us the game with his ordinary kicking, dropped sitters and falling over his own feet when he allowed his opponent to run the length of the ground and kick the winning goal.

Re: Maister
Maister and TDL were really really good tonight. Both worked their arses off. Being at the game you see the leads and runs to defence and back they do. TDL missed one because he had run all over the ground and was spent by the time he lined up. Also thought Dunnell was pretty solid.
Interestingly Roo wasn't forward much in the first half and it allowed Maister to just roam around picking off marks. I was behind goal and not hearing a telecast but roo seemed to just roam around in the midfield and defence. I thought Dal was amazing and back to his best as a deep defender- starting in the opposition goal square next to Roberton.
