We've been playing very well. A lot of contributors not just going to Riewoldt has worked I think.

Really impressive first half. The clearances are much improved over the horror show last week, the run, the chase, the pressure, the tackling. Its all really good.

Some blokes seriously need to stand up though in the second half. Saad is unsighted again, TDL has missed gettable shots and the only time ive seen Jones near the ball he's chasing tail or fumbling it.

On the plus side Stanley has killed em, Maister is actually doing something, Dunnell has been huge, Milne and Roo are dominating up forward.

Hope we carry it on

No idea. Im watching us play well. Curly will know. He cares more about that than the actual game.

It's a legitimate question plugger, the arguments have been because we are always second to the ball. Yet this game is different we are playing well yet still not getting the call from the umps? C'mon even you have to admit we have been on the end of a few called and non called frees tonight.

How do they have 7 more free kicks?

That isn't right. We haven't been particularly clumsy in tackles this week. We've won more contested possession.

It is strange.

The saints fans want the blood of the umpires. I think if they keep that crap up they wont make it out of here.

Other than that we have been average.

Stanley forward and Dal across the backline are two positions that should be stamped for the next 24 months..

How Dunnell has not been given a go ahead of Saad until this round is beyond me.. But better late than never..

TDL would've swallowed both those very gettable goals in the VFL.. AFL level and he squanders... Seems mentally weak (as well as physically)..

At home - our dung heap - 12 to 5 when we have been making most of the play and laying perfect tackles - QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ANSWERED!!!!
Half way through the first quarter the frees were 0-0. I thought to myself, Oh well this game will be umpired just like all the others this round. Its half time and the frees paid are nearly the same amount as paid for the whole game on friday night.

I guess we must just be really undisciplined, it is the only explanation really

Much much better intent this week, Armo and Steven are playing A grade midfield games. We should be at least 5 goals up, umps have done their best to keep WC in it.

Great to see Dunell doing well, he looks like a player who lifts when he gets a chance in a higher level.

Milney is playing brilliantly but Saad and TDL have been liabilities, hopefully we don't miss the extra midfield rotations in the second half.

We are playing Wet Toast - what did you expect

Yes this is correct. I did a review late in 2011 on club frees paid. West Coast ge more help by quite a margin over other clubs. I would say this probably increased with the "ducks" (as they are known over here).

Hawthorn were the worst treated by umpires (also by a reasonable margin). They averaged 75 free kicks less than the Eagles per year over the time scale reviewed.

Saints were close to middle of the road in this review.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Is it too early to sub SAD off and put Saunders on? I would say it is lever too early.

Perhaps playing him in a set backline position for 2 months, irrespective of form or opposition, has given him confidence as he's been able to at least string games together..

Up forward he looks a real threat.. Looks like he belongs..

Well at least they are unbiased. I mean we couldn't have one standard for Milne and Ballantyne and another for the rest of the comp.

If Milne is going to give away a stupid free like that he should really make the eagles players earn it.

I really want to like Ray but whenever I start liking him he just coughs on up to the opposition. He really loves giving it to the other side. Hes the unforced turnover king.
