In comes 28 year old going on 65 then.SaintWodonga wrote:How far is Schides? He must come in if fit, too classy.
We cannot and should not have too many kids in the side too. We cannot have them getting beaten up by bigger sides.
Webster to get a full game too.

We must honour those that are best performers at ressie's level. Lee has been our best tall forward. Ledger has been dominating and Curren I just did a thread on....Those Three must come in. All young and have the opportunity to be part of our future.

Re: Changes vs the Weagles
It's a real worry and is all about regaining our effort and competitveness - a big challenge for the Coach.
A couple of changes will not make much difference, as we don't have quality players pushing up.

Re: Changes vs the Weagles
surely Ferguson will get dropped, looks way out of depth, Saad and Sippa mut have a rest. Ins maybe Murdoch, Saunders hard to know as Sandy were just terrible yesterday
Re: Changes vs the Weagles
On the VFL effort on the weekend
No one deserves a promotion... But if you look at recent form guide.
In
Curran, Dunnell, Ledger, Cockie, Lee
Out
Saad, Ferguson, Hickey, Siposs

Give him a couple of games, wasn't the first to have a shocking debut...you hear players talk about it all the time.
We need to persist with him as we'll need height again v the Eagles.

Re: Changes vs the Weagles
Agree madDog. Saad is having no impact. I've been patient with him, but we really need someone in that small forward role who can swing in to the midfield. Saunders would be my choice. Siposs is all at sea. He doesn't seem to know what he should be doing out there and is slow and reactive. Murdoch or Lee to replace him. Ferguson is exactly as I expected him - a flanker playing on a big key forward and struggling with the height and weight of his opponent. I saw nothing to suggest he was of AFL standard in his VFL games and I'm doubtful he'll give us what we need. Problem is, who replaces him? Right now, Blake is a better option.

In: Ledger, Lee & Curren

Curren is a rookie and cannot be elevated;
Ledger has a major attitude problem that will probably stop him ever being an AFL player.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Plenty of guys have made it with character flaws...that's all.

Re: Changes vs the Weagles
I know nothing about his character, but I do know that blokes who come off the ground for rotations and belt the crap out of the interchange bench, so much so that the support staff will not even talk to them, have an attitude problem.SainterK wrote:Can you elaborate?Bernard Shakey wrote: Ledger has a major attitude problem that will probably stop him ever being an AFL player.

Re: Changes vs the Weagles
Very few options left. Genuinely bereft of ideas.
In: Schneider (if fit), Ledger, Lee
Out: Saad, Hickey, Siposs (if Schneider is fit)
Unsure on Jones, Maister, Dennis-Lane too (we need selection integrity)

Maybe he is frustrated, watching everyone else getting a crack probably unnerving him?Bernard Shakey wrote:I know nothing about his character, but I do know that blokes who come off the ground for rotations and belt the crap out of the interchange bench, so much so that the support staff will not even talk to them, have an attitude problem.SainterK wrote:Can you elaborate?Bernard Shakey wrote: Ledger has a major attitude problem that will probably stop him ever being an AFL player.

Over trying even, either way he should get a crack IMO....might fall into place if he comes in and is surrounded by good leaders.

Re: Changes vs the Weagles
B: Simpkin, Dempster, Wright
HB: Geary, Roberton, Webster
C: Dal Santo, Armitage, Montagna
HF: Curren, Stanley, Siposs
F: Milne, Riewoldt, Saad
Foll: McEvoy, Steven, Ross
Int: Ray, Ledger, Newnes, Dunell (sub)
Put Gilbert on LTIL or make up an injury for Blake/Jones to get Curren elevated.
Out: Fisher (not interested), Gwilt (not suited to modern footy), Ferguson (not up to it), Hickey (doesn't work with McEvoy)
In: Simpkin, Dunell, Curren, Ledger
There's no way it will happen but that's what I'd do. Dempster is now our best negating defender. Simpkin played well on bigger opponent last year. Dunell, Curren and Ledger are all playing well at Sandy and we might as well see if they're up to it.
If Watters recalls Maister, Jones or TDL he will have lost my support.

Re: Changes vs the Weagles
Yes Ledge probably spat the dummy... Btw Kosi spoke to him about that. ..... Well
Marigliani, Cockie, Murdoch, Curran all made comments about the confusion about the chaotic rotations....
Ledger is a smart kid.... 98 TER but his social skills are not great, but I don't think he's a prick. He has a real dip on the field, but is a bit haphazard....
He looks unhappy, and doesn't want to be there IMO and I don't think he gets along with many at the club... Especially SW

Would not surprise me one bit to see him playing well at Freo next year.BigMart wrote:Yes Ledge probably spat the dummy... Btw Kosi spoke to him about that. ..... Well
