Well under your 6 day break theory who would you have had out last week and next week?

i dont think we will see a wholesale change either one maybe two ... Scotty is keen to give the guys chances unlike the supporters who want players dropped for one bad performance i reckon the coaching team will give the guys a chance to make up for the poor performance ...
for me i reckon

out: Milera
in: Jones

Yesterday's game was one we could have won, and no way been beaten by 40 points- it was worse than poor, and we shouldn't gift games to players who played badly in a badly beaten team, especially when a few Saints did well in the Sandy team which won by 70 odd points- they are the players who should get the reward.

Would definitely like to see more than one change after a bad loss against a middling team.

Particularly considering several players have put together multiple good performances in the VFL…

Plus our balance is still skewif. One small forward is enough… Saad has been the least sheethouse and is tackling (most games)

Milne out of credits, Maister would have to find form before another AFL game.

Shenton, Dunell, Curren are knocking the door down… it's time. Lee not far off.

Wright could even be ready.

really ? i was pretty confident that we would struggle with sundays game ... 6 day break , interstate again , against the team who had a training session game last week , coming off the big game last week with a very winnable game this week ... ill admit i expected it to be closer than 40 points but i didnt think we were a chance to win it

You're probably right trav… Doesn't sound like Watters will make many changes.

Can't see Maister playing though.

hopefully we reward curren for his efforts over the last few years. I don't think his gonna be a star but his been in the best for the vfl for so long, need to see if he can make it , otherwise wants the point of having him on the list? id like to see dunnel get a shot too, thought he was pretty good last year.
soo.. dunnel for wilkes
curren for milera
saad/ milne for dennis lane
wanna see lee kick a few more goals before bringing his in

Give Maister a break. Just came back after 4 weeks on the sidelines. Perhaps we should have dropped Fisher and Dempster after one game back from their injuries, as both were pretty ordinary in their return games.

The one who has to go is Milera. Fails to put any pressure on his opponent when we haven't got the ball.

And you must be one of those who looks at the disposal efficiency stat rather than watching the game.
The disposal efficiency stat says CJ is better than Ablett…
They should have a headless chook stat

Armo may just need a rocket - he's been a bit flat lately and seems to respond well to being dropped.

Makes it tricky with us playing rubbish last week in the VFL and a bye in the VFL this week. Seriously there needs to be total alignment with the AFL re fixturing and byes if possible.

I thought you had a problem with the side on a 6 day break because of young guys and you havent dropped anyone under 23 years of age so im confused who you wanted out yesterday. by the way Armo is 1000 to one on being dropped. And i actually will cry if Hickey and kosi are in the same side.

Keen to see the young guys. Keep Hickey. Happy to swap Maister for Lee.

Saad, Milera and Milne must be running out of chances, at least one can have a rest.

Not in a rush to see Clint Jones or Jason Blake, and Kosi needs to show something in 2nds to earn his spot.

Bring back Lenny & Wright as soon as they're ready.

And show us more of the kids.

Can anybody tell us about Shenton, Saunders and Curran. And any other likely prospects.

Liked the look of Dunnel last year.

Quite like Farren Ray, but he's not likely to be part of our next premership team.

The one thing that remains most obvious is the reliance on Riewoldt up forward.

And the question is - "Why?"

The reason is because we persist with 3 "small forwards", none of whom are currently at AFL level if you assess AFL level as having an impact against the premier sides in the competition.

Further, none of these 3 can perform in the mid-field, giving assistance to our established and emerging mid-fielders.

We know that we lack a key defender, able to hold down full back - and I would expect that further effort will go into recruiting same noting that Brown is playing in the WAFL.

Around the flanks we are well served including by some who will emerge as mid-fielders.

Some of these kids we have seen this year have real ability - and if we can buy a spine to assist and replace Riewoldt, Fisher and Koschitzke plus add a key defender to allow Stanley to play across half back there is a future.

The rucks thru McEvoy and Hickey will be ok.

The mid-field led by Armitage and Steven and assisted by those emerging will also be ok.

The flanks will be ok because of that emerging talent.

I really do not see any future for the likes of Maister, Geary, Jones, Milne et al because they are, at best now, GOP's with very limited handling or disposal skills, or both.

We have to give the experience to those who will progress past GOP status - and now is the time to do it.

We recruited the likes of Lee and White because they promise more than servicable - and their time is near.

You're finally nearly right about Milney, but still suggesting Geary be dropped… pretty sure he's safe for awhile.

Geary is a great stopper...but does not use the ball well.

Watching the Cats and their ball movement last game you can see why they are where they are at and where we are at.

Not saying that Geary should not be in the 22, but some hold him up to be a genuine mid for us.

If Geary remains as one of our best players, bottom third we are going to remain. He is a support player, and not a main act. That he is a main act at present shows where our list is at. We sorely lack class players at present.

We need new players who can win a lot of ball, and then use it well. Till we gain thee it will be lean ties indeed.

I hold great hopes for Wright to become a mid. Newnes and Ross both show promise, but are not there yet.

I thought he was alright towards the end of last year. I can guarantee one thing, he'll have ago.
I agree.

Just think we are calling time on his career without seeing how he goes under pressure in the big league.

He could be our "Picken" from the Dogs and he can win a clearance which right now we cant buy...

Give him a go and if he can exert ANY forward pressure its worth a shot.

Milera out.

Eventually you will be right about Milne. Just 2 AA wrong and now it is geary copping it. cant see him being AA but he now must be a chance.
