Good Riddance Football Park
Thankfully we will never have to play again at this cesspit...it hasn't been a happy hunting ground for us.
My fondest memory is the '05 Qualifying Final. My worst the '04 Prelim...hurts almost as much as recent grannies, as Brisbane were ripe for the picking....

Re: Good Riddance Football Park
Been to 90% of our games there, and yep as you said, very few highlights. 05 QF the obvious exception, and despite the result the 04 PF still goes down as one of best games of footy I've been too. Destroying Port there in 09 was satisfying, given the pastings they consistently gave us at the ground under Williams.

Re: Good Riddance Football Park
What was our overall record there?
At least it wasn't all gloom and doom. We have had far worse records at other interstate grounds. Gabba wasn't a happy hunting ground. I think we were winless there for about 10 years at one stage.
At least we won a pre-season GF there in '08. But that PF of '04 still hurts to reflect on.

won't miss the dump - from the glare off the aluminium seats in the 1980's, to the wind blowing off the lakes, absolutely shocking place

25% success rate doesn't exactly warm the cockles of the heart. Yeah, can't say I'll miss the place.AdelaideSainter wrote:7 wins from 28 games according to the bible, stats.rleague.

Re: Good Riddance Football Park
Our recent record was ok though.
Adelaide Oval is much better location wise and that's the key point.
Does anyone think a new location but same city will make a jatz cracker difference?

I think it will just be used for the Adelaide footy clubs training centre and also their admin centre as they do now. They only upgraded their whole training facility and admin a couple of years ago at a very hefty cost.Con Gorozidis wrote:out of interest what are they doing with it?

Excuse my ignorance, but are both Adelaide teams playing out of Adelaide oval next season?
Would have thought it too small for the Crows. Has the capacity been increased?

Lance or James??

Re: Good Riddance Football Park
My one abiding memory of the trip in Adelaide for the 05 final apart from that glorius victory was the Westlakes Subway over the road.
I felt like General Custer when he lined up at the Little Big Horn Subway and thought uh oh!
That, and the giant pits of West End beer bottles in the car park.
