Milera
I know he absolutely dominates in the VFL when he's sent back and usually quickly comes back into the senior side, but he comes back and shows that he has not improved at all. He's weak and can't win contests/stick tackles, he misses easy shots at goal, he rarely passes off when he should, doesn't get a lot of the ball and doesn't kick goals against decent opposition. What is getting him picked each week?
He averages 75% TOG, which is very slightly under that of a full-time midfielder. Yet from that time he's averaging just under 6.8 effective disposals per match, along with 2.7 clangers. And if you take out the GWS/GC games then he's kicked one goal for the year from four games.
So he doesn't get much of it, doesn't kick many goal and doesn't apply any defensive pressure...what does he do to get picked?!

Re: Milera
Honestly, his career is at the crossroads.
His pressure, second efforts and even basic intent at the ball just not good enough.
He coughed it up a couple of times under pressure.
He is too good for VFL, and is good enough for AFL level if he applies himself.
At the moment, he is nowhere near it.

Re: Milera
Maybe he's still pining for home. If he is, and he wants to attract interest from the Adelaide based clubs at the end of the year, he'd better pull his finger out. IMHO, he is the most disappointing player on the list so far. He has plenty of skill and a few good tricks, but his effort, intensity, attack on the ball and defensive pressure are, at times, pathetic.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.

Re: Milera
He's played under 20 games hard to call him yet. Even at his age it's a huge step up. He has his good points- i didn't see the game tonight though.

Got to agree MSG.
We'd be better giving the likes of Sammy Dunell or Cam Shenton an extended crack at it. It becomes irrelevant if he's 'too good for the VFL'... it's becoming more and more clear that he isn't good enough for the AFL.

Re: Milera
Takes too many short steps when the ball is in dispute. Got away with it last year, they're a wake up to him this year. Easier in the VFL.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
Re: Milera
Looks good when the ball falls into his lap. Needs to try harder at earning his own ball.

Re: Milera
I thought it was clear on many occasions last year he could make an impact at the highest level. Needs to find some confidence, and a bit more of the pill might also help.Richter wrote:Got to agree MSG.
