Young Seb was very good in the closing stages when the Blues were surging. He looks unflustered in heavy traffic, and has efficient disposal. I think he will be retained even when Lenny returns.

Did he do enough to earn a Rising Star nomination? Nathan Wright would have been a show up until the time the got injured !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

For those that saw him at Sandy was he playing this well?

He just seems to have adapted to AFL pace so well - is he simply better suited at this level ? Or was he much the same for Sandy ? Be interested to hear others thoughts

his ability to just hold onto the ball for a fraction of a second, allowing him to find the best option is pendles like. No wonder the coach thought he played like him. Big man crush for seb

The very best thing about Ross is he values his possies , uses everyone like gold compared to senior guys like Milne /Dal Santo who constantly give it away . :D

He has that weird matrix thing working for him (no not our matrix) the one were while you are not the fastest guy going around, the footy appears to stop while you think your way through it.

Me like.

Seb will be an absolute star.

I've very rarely seen a kid play with such composure with less than 10 games under his belt. When Watters mentioned the Pendlebury comparison I thought he was off his head... but you really do see some Pendlebury like movements in Seb. Just sums things up nicely & uses the ball by hand beautifully. Footskills will improve but they're already pretty effective.

He's a great size for a midfielder too, tall & solid already. I can't wait to see him in 2-3 years time & how good he will be.

Loved the Judd shake & bake too... for a young player to look up & see a great of the game coming at you, feign a handpass right, shimmy & give it off to the left was beautiful.

Lots to like last night especially in a developing midfield. Ross, Steven, Armo (who was quiet & looked hurt), Wright, Newnes (who I thought was fantastic)... & most likely a very high quality mid to add come November.

Terrific temperament. Looked mentally calm the whole time. Did grunt work and he was always lending support to team mates with shepherds.
Think he also nailed Judd once or twice. Really impressed.

Composure was awesome. Another intelligent young bloke...

Gotta love the linkage between Ross and Newnes. Confidently moving the ball forward with poise and intent. Hope both play out the year.

Throw in Wright, Roberton & Webster (probably gonna be the best of the lot) and you've gotta be pretty farkin happy with our drafting.

He's a skilled, tough, natural footballer. At last!

With another year of senior footy and an AFL pre season under his belt he could become a regular starting mid next year. Isn't at all quick but he has a great footy mind, which is a much more damaging attribute. His fitness will hold him back a bit this year but he should still play another 10-12 games

was never setting the world on fire at Sandy...

so therefore he has no potential and was not worth developing... after all didn't show more than a bunch of other players that never made it

I saw a lot that I liked in the pre season games this year, particularly the match v Melb in Casey...

Very happy that he has been given a good crack at it, and he's certainly taking his chance..

I firmly believe he is a certain 200 gamer for us and will be a brutal midfielder in the years to come..

Love the boy..

Must ensure his contract is locked away, away from any off site injecting facilities..

Very similar player to Scott Pendlebury, more so than Dal Santo IMO. Looks to have more of an inside game than Dal Santo. As good as Dal is in space he tends to get tackled and ball held to him when trying to extract. Not taking anything away from Dal cos his disposal is elite and above Pendlebury (and obviously Ross) but doesn't have the same inside-outside combo game. Ross has that natural ability to not only get hands on the ball but extract it from packs like Pendles. I reckon he will be something after 50 games.

That was far and away his best game of his short career. Hopefully it's a real springboard for the rest of 2013 (and beyond).

He has got great hands in close, just hope he can build his tank up - out midfield was totally out of gas in the last term.

To be honest he was solid in the VFL in my opinion. Couldn't work out what his trick was, expect he always seemed to be able to run around and get a kick off without blistering pace...

He seems to one of those players that performs at the same level at the level above.

My opinion. Open to being told its far from the money.

His AFL form has been suberb for a young player though. Showing those composed traits without having sper pace.

I wasn't sold on him in his first couple of games and thought Wright and even Saunders might make better players long term. And then he just took off. I got that one wrong. Backing in the young guys is paying off much quicker than I thought.
