15th !
Currently were 15th on the ladder and the way the season is going , most of our kids will get a real workout !
Ssshhh , don't tell the older playing where rebuilding !
By seasons end we may be not much higher , does this mean we're in line for a top 5 draft pick ?
or is the draft still compromised ?
A top 5 pick and one in the low 20s , may give a poor season a silver lining !

I don't believe this years draft is compromised, although I think a few more results will start falling our way. I think we'll end up with about the 6th draft pick.

Re: 15th !
I think some clubs have activated their compensation picks to use in this years draft, meaning we won't get the pick we thought we'd get....
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: 15th !
At the start of the season I hoped for around 6th but I think it wi be around 10 to about 14th
That will give us a high draft pick 8 without bei g a crap side and it wil also put games into the young blokes as it appears sw is doing.
This years draft is not compromised accept for maybe 1 or 2 compensation picks still outstanding, so as much as I am annoyed about our position there could be some positives this year

Re: 15th !
wont the compo picks be used after our pick anyway?
i..e the suns compo pick was traded for caddy, soit is determined by Geelongs position?

Crikey it's going to be a long year, can you see where our next win is coming from on current form.
I thought Friday was winnable, and I don't see why we're not fir enough yet to run these games out.
Wright and Roberton are big winners for us,but were going to lose some champs at the end of the year.

100 goals in 14 games...Lockett is the key

No.. you would be accused of tanking.sainter#4 wrote:do you still get the priority pick if you win 5 or less?
Some would spend years trying to prove it, if guilty you would be whacked with a feather....

Re: 15th !
It's a bit premature to talk about us being 15th when we haven't played yet.
We might get beaten by 30 goals and drop to 16th.
Personally, I think we'll win and go to 14th.

Our form against Carlscum this century has been pretty good - I think it's 17 wins out of 18 games.SainterK wrote:Big chance tonight

Re: 15th !
I would say we sit behind the middle pack because of injuries in our backline. We are better than the Dees, Dogs, GWS, GC and Brissie but probably a bit behind North, Richmond, Adelaide, WCE, Port etc. who all make up this years middle tier teams. I would expect us to finish above all of that first group and if we take a few big scalps we will jump some of the bottom of the middle tier teams. About 13 makes sense to me but anywhere up to about 9th could be achievable if the results fall our way. We would need a miracle run to get anywhere above that now.

Re: 15th !
Draft picks mean nothing as far as I'm concerned. Look at Geelongs list, they are constantly producing a whole heap of exceptional players from nothing more than smart recruiting...oh and the fact they've got their own designated team running around in the reserves (which I think are also currently unbeaten). Whilst I can't stand Geelong, and the concept of their window not even close to shutting...it drives me absolutely mad to think of the wasted time and development any of our younger players had under Lyon! We're in for a long, long bumpy road...again.
Personally, I tihnk we might scrape in over the Blues tonight

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
