im more confident of being able to pull off the upset this game than i was over the last two weeks .. Carlton are a decent side but they still have their moments when they can get caught napping (something the swans and the pies rarely do) if we are to jag a game then i reckon this one could be it especially with Waite out ... im tipping this game will be a belter

I always sense a dislike greater than any other at games over the last few years.
I think there is a genuine dislike of each other by both supporters.

Our record against Carlton is still the worst of any head to head in the comp. No wonder we hate them.

In Round 20, 1993 we broke a 29 year drought at Princes Park. Between that match and 1966, our record against Carlton was 7 wins, 49 losses.

Since that game our record against Carlton is 20 wins, 9 losses. Now they hate us.

i know this will sound stupid but i think that almost works in our favour ... i personally see Carlton as the type of team who will see those outs and start to think they have the game won and possibly go in expecting the win to just happen.. even with those outs i reckon we have the chance to jump them and catch them out ... either way im looking forward to Monday night footy

Carlton are about the same as Richmond currently- just the next tier down. We are probably just below them. We have been in all of our lost matches to date so believe we have a pretty good chance of taking them out. Easier than Pies or Swans but we could also drop our bundle if we keep trying and never getting the chockies.

Apparently we were to get belted by Collingwood... Didn't happen and for much of the game made them look more than average...

This week touched up by an average Carlton outfit..

Before the season starts when i think of which team i'd rather see the Saints beat its always carlton.
This year we also have the coach that survived the GF draw to win a premiership @ our expense to add more angst by attempting to coach them to another win over us.
Anyway usually the Saints produce a late night thriller on any given weekend - it could be a red white and black thriller this time!

Would just love to get a win over the 'hot' blues.

I'm hearing the problem on the virus was not major and would expect him to be right to go. Would expect him and Hickey in for Kosi and Saad (has got to be given a run at Sandy IMO), and maybe Ray in for Murdoch or Saunders.

Would love to see Webster come in for Gilbo. Ray may just come in for Gilbo and Murdoch & Saunders both stay (can't see that myself).

Carlton are not as good as the Swans or Collingwood- but we have also been weakened with good players out since those 2 games which means the gap probably stays the same - 20 or so points.

But this one does feel more winnable
