Extremely proud

Post: # 1329152Post Uncle Barrels »

Of everyone tonight.

A few had 'mares, but Milne and Saad are small forwards and that will happen, Stanley is still learning, and Kosi (God love him) has, sadly, given everything for the cause and has been done for two years.

The kids look ok, and frankly, I don't think we're as far away as some do.

Dal the only solid (unexpected?) worry for me. Maybe needs a spell.

Onward and upward Saints!

Yep,some every good stuff tonight.
Roo is amazing
Roberton will be great
However, Kosi should never play again
Concerns about Fisher
Concerns about Dal
So many concerns re the coach.

No concerns re the coach. Doing what he can with the cattle he's got.

Wouldn't mind seeing White for a few games to be honest. See what the kids got. And with Kosi certain to go, Maister out, Stanley worth persisting with down back and Saad probably needing a spell, the forward line could line up as (depending on fitness):

HF: Milera White Siposs
FF: Hickey Riewoldt Milne

Not saying he's the messiah, but that comment on the back of tonight is idiotic. As someone else said, can only use the cattle he's got.

If we're going to rebuild (as we are), would much prefer the 22 on any given day/night give effort like they did tonight... As opposed to what the likes of Melbourne dish up.... Unlike Melbourne, our lads are clearly playing for the coach.

I like the fact that he wants competitive out put from everyone in our jumper while doing the hard work.

he's not lowering expectation yet doing an on the hop rebuild, No excuses and high expectations are a good thing. In safe hands IMO.

Coaching was good. Young players ran out of puff, and watching Kosi was sad. Just cannot get from one contest to the next. Blake is a better option. At least Blake has a tank, and is a far better ruckman than Kosi.

Positives
Newnes's first half
Roberton's coolness
Steven's clearance work
Geary's job on Sidebottom

Negatives
Dal Santo's form
Some of Saad's and Milne's efforts

Not me. We lost a game we could have won. Don't start accepting looses. It only leads to more. I've seen it all before. We had some weak players and some weak performances and some weak efforts and some weak decisions. At least three of them are in our hands so that we can improve next week.

I used to like reading your stuff but now youve just gone weird.

Geezus accept where we are and from there think of where/how we are going to get where we want to be.

Hate losing.

Too many passengers. They will be dropped.

This team will change many times this year.

I think we have some quality newbies though.

Many positives.

Not this again?

There were positives.... Pride is not a feeling I have after a loss...

I don't praise effort, at that level, I expect it....

Positives were that we have found 6 future players
Siposs
Wright
Newnes
Murdoch
Saunders
Roberton

In the reserves we have
White
Hickey
Webster

Who should also be blooded IMO

I mean F*** it, what do we have to lose??

Come off it!

FYI - Lenny was an extremely late out replaced by a kid (who tried hard). Add to that a key running back out half way through the third (Gilbo), and it was as good a loss as last week vs. Sydney.

Nothing wrong with accepting losses in our developmental stage against quality/semi-quality opposition.

Why was the coaching good. Don't understand this comment.Too many times we were kicking to a non existent forward line. Is this good coaching? To leave Stanley on 'Choke' for the whole game. Was this good coaching? To have Kosi is the side. Was this good coaching? Why wasn't Millera in the side? Was this good coaching? Blake may well have been the ideal interchange tonight. Where was he?
We can well say that we are re building but some of the decisions that impacted tonight's game say otherwise.

We dont want to burn them like Melbourne did with Scully and Watts.

Hold your nerve. I am sure they will get a game sometime this season.

Lance or James??

Effort was OK, some of the youngsters played alright. Roberton is a real bonus.

Stanley just cannot read the game. Kosi is finished, neither he or Blake should ever play for us again sadly.

Our skills are still truly awful including our complete inability to stick a tackle.
We tried hard and pressured them all night but our tackling skills are so bad we only had 41 tackles for the game.
That is a fairly damning statistic to my mind.

Burning them involves trying to build the team around them. We're blooding them as support players as I see it (a d doing a bloody good job).

The only one I worry about it Stanley. But bless him, he's battling away.

Spot on.

The kid we could easily burn first is Siposs.

He needs very careful management this year and maybe half of next until he fills out completely.

So Watters has to the power to keep the forwards in the forward line while sitting in the coaches box???
Milera was injured or do you want to play injured players?
Who else were you going to put on Cloke? Fisher not up to it, neither would Gilbert and Dempster not big enough.

Bad coaching pfft.

He could have had 5 or 6 goals tonight with a bit more luck. I think he looked pressured when we expected him to be Goddard but back forward he looks at home. Play them and back them in. Our old guys will hold them up. Roo ran in when I think it was Reid droppd his knee into the back of Sippos' head.
